vista ultimate for $10?

A lot of OEM cd's that comes with machines do this. HP OEM cds never ask for keys or activation.

I doubt if the software is legit. He probably made many copies of his OEM cds.

Considering that there's another package on his site...Vista Ultimate with Office 2007..for 14 dollars?

Hmmm.....it may pass WGA checks at the moment..and maybe next week....but in another month or two? I doubt it.

I can gurantee you 110% it's not a legitimate license. It's most likely a pirated VLK license (Volume License). Stay away from it.

I seem to recall there being some sort of cultural idiom about things that seem too good to be true...hmmmmmm...how's that one go again?

:p

That's only because of a SLA 2.0 BIOS on the computer and the key & matching certificate being included in the install media. No activation won't work on a computer that doesn't have a matching SLA 2.0 BIOS (e.g. HP OEM disc on a Dell, Lenovo, etc).

The DVD has been hacked. I'd look up whatever the current 1337 h4<k DVD was, but I don't feel like wasting time.

To the OP: you're paying $10 to get something you could download free with the same legal status. It's just a warez copy that site is selling.

I'm skeptical as to its legitness.
I'd collapse in a fit of uncontrollable hilarity if anyone even COMTEMPLATED that it might be legit!

A supposedly 'genuine' Vista Ultimate which doesn't come in a 'genuine' package, sold for $10 by a seller who doesn't have a profile!

C'mon

SLA = Service Level Agreement

SLIC = Software Licensing Description Table

You got the terminology wrong but the main point correct, I am willing to bet that the CD will have the latest SLIC bios emulator pre-installed and scripted, which for now will work but not forever.

To good to be true unfortunantly.

You can't just get a legit copy from your local school or university for an extra $30 bucks?

Should we report this to MS?

I just might.

EDIT: I emailed Microsoft about this website, and I should (according to their website) get a reply within 24 Hours. This should be interesting to see what they say about this website....

LOL - watch them accuse me of making the software :p

luckily my school gives me free os's :)

So far I've got
Windows XP
Server 2003
Windows Vista Business

It's probably warez and it may even contain malware. It's best to just stay away from "deals" like that.
