I am picking up the latest games but have run into a dilema, I'm sure most of you who own multiple consoles and a pc are facing, which platform to buy the games for? I have a great PC with a 37" monitor and I have a great home theater with 61" dlp etc etc

I have been leaning towards the 360/ps3 for dead space and fallout3 and the pc for farcry 2 (because i prefer mouse/keyboard with fps)

What are you gonna get and why? Thanks

All of the above of PC, because my PC can handle it, they will be cheaper, there will be more players on the PC (for the multiplayer games), the controls will be better on PC and the gfx will be better on PC :p

Far Cry and Fallout 3 for PC, and Dead Space on 360, for me.

Psst... Fallout 3 is an fps...

PC, because I actually have money to burn on new hardware this time around. :D

But if I was in broke-as-a-joke status, probably the PS3.

Console, because once you're done with the game you can actually turn around and sell it :)

Is it? I have read that the combat system works a bit differently than a traditional FPS...

Fallout 3 and FarCry 2 for PC because i can't aim at all with my thumbs.

Which ever has the least amount of DRM but I'm going to wait on reviews/general consensus before I buy anything.

QFT^

I'm getting all 3 for pc. Forget the console they don't need the sales. Buy the pc version whenever you can.

PC/PC/PC

Only get console games now when its an exclusive that doesn't look like it will come over to pc.

Fallout 3 is a fps/rpg hybrid. As with bloodlines you can play it pretty much like a fps. It has VATS of course but you have limited points you can spend on it. However you can abuse it and run around in circles until it´s filled up again lol.

But really unless you don´t have a powerful enough PC the PC is always the best. wii doesn´t count because of it´s unique controllers. Doesn´t matter even if some game would play best with a gamepad you can use gamepads on PCs as well. And as mentioned it´s cheaper more moddable etc...

ill get dead space on PC if it has EAX support.. if it doesn't probably ps3/360

this should be a poll thread with 2 options:

*PC

&

*Moron

You're so cool. I wish I could be you.

Also Fallout 3 is not a fps. It's an RPG with stats. You're going to be severely disappointed if you think you're supposed to play the game like a fps (I'm aiming but it's not hitting him) It's a stat based game.

You can probably say the same for Mass Effect, but its basically a 3rd person shooter with RPG elements if you play some of the combat classes.

Fallout 3 and FarCry 2 on PS3 for sure
Dead Space...... eh

All three for PC! Headphones, precise controls, plus being close to the screen really immerses me into a game.

All pc, unless you have a group of friends who will all be on 360 or ps3, but with that being said, the pc carries all these pros.

KB/Mouse or Controller
No hardware limitations
Potential good mods
40-50 price tag as opposed to 60 for consoles. Thats a 30 - 60 saving enough for a 4th game :)

Cons on the pc .. .

Well there you have it.

Well on a [H]ard|OCP forum I'm pretty sure we know how most people will answer.

1. Lower price
2. High resolutions
3. Faster framerates
4. Shorter loading times
Sometimes: 5. Better textures

And mods, greater customizing of controls, etc.

Um is this a serious question? The system you have posted in you sig tells me that you will be able to run all of these in quality levels that far surpass the console version. How is PC not your choice for all three. 720p is shit man! Get into true high def gaming (PC).

For Fallout 3, i'd go with the PC as i've played it before on the 360, i personally dont like the texture pop-ins and not being able to add AA etc. Its also Games for Windows Live, so you can still chat with your buddies on xbox.

For Dead Space, i'd go with the 360 since its more of a survival horror in 3rd person, and i think you'd get a much better feel for it on a controller over a keyboard and mouse.

For Far Cry 2, it'd mostly personal preference. Yes it will look better on a PC, but the 36's graphics, from wat i've seen, arent that bad. So it mostly goes to if you want the better, but possibly slight graphical increase, you prefer controllers or a keyboard/mouse, and do you want to play with your friends on Live, or want to play PC multiplayer.

As for me, im getting Fallout 3 for PC since its Windows Live and will have better Graphics.

Dead Space for 360 since for me, i thin kthe controller is better for survival horror.

And going to tryout Far Cry 2 on both the PC and 360 and see which one i like best, and go from there.

how have you played Fallout 3 on the 360 already?

also you do know that you can use a controller on the pc too?

yeah i've played it on the 360, and i do also know you can plug the controller into a pc, but for the 61" he was talking about, i believe the console is better, but it's all personal preference in the end.

As for Fallout 3, yes i have played it, and the graphics are good, but i think they can be a lot better with some AF and AA applied. Also the overall graphical increase from a PC would make the game much more immersive imo, but the 360's graphics are good. My only major problem, as i said earlier, is texture pop-in. Sometimes i would be going up the side of a hill and the textures would be all washed up and a solid flat color, but then after a couple of seconds of just standing there they would finally load.

If you've played oblivion before, you can expect a similar landscape desing as well as gameplay, but i dont want to spoil anything, even though i've only played a couple hours myself haha

I'm going to get dead space for the 360, and fallout for the pc for the mods and such. Farcry 2 is going to suck :D

PC on all because a Quad Core with 4gb of ram and a 260GTX > any console. Also mouse + keyboard rule.

Fallout 3 - PC
FarCry 2 - PC if I get it
Dead Space - Console if I get it

Dead Space is going to be a great horror game to play with others watching with the lights turned off and the music turned up.
