Anyone thinking of getting it? They say it can clock over 3Ghz.... :)

Might replace my FX-62 for this thing.:D

Ever heard of google? yes, its a dual core, and its stock is 2.3ghz

I've seen some benchmarks for it and it looks impressive, would be a nice upgrade from my 5000+. When is it supposed to come out though?

I read that it was coming out the 10th maybe.....not for sure though.

Well i'm usually up to date on computer hardware and i never heard of it. It looks interesting, how come there hasn't been many previews on it yet if it is so close to release? That one chinese website had a very questionable review. It said this processor used around 180 idle without overclock i think.

I'll probably buy it as an upgrade my my X2 6000+ if it's as good as it sounds, and if the price is reasonable.

Thats quite impressive. It was faster than 2,6GHz Brisbane only at 2,3GHz. And since you can overclock it up to more than 3GHz, who knows how well it will perform.
And the price is VERY reasonable.

Way to go AMD!

The fact that it has received almost no publicity seems kind of odd if it IS a good upgrade... Not like AMD is busy with top of the line models :(

What's the base MSRP for one of these "hawties"?

8450 Toliman (2.1, tri) is only $99 right now but has locked multis.

Phenom tri-cores have pretty much abysmal gaming performance. Pretty much every X2 beats Toliman's in gaming benchmarks.
So Kuma will pretty much destroy Toliman.

Yep. That's why i've held off the phenoms.

Kuma is a Toliman with one core deactivated, probably a way for AMD to make money from failed Tri-cores, which are probably failed quads.
The only advantage it might have is that its L3 is shared by only 2 cores instead of 3 or 4.

Hm... that is a very nice price. I'm consider either this or a 9950BE 125w....

At stock its slower than an X2 6000+, which is why theres not much buzz about this chip. But it looks like a good overclocker, I'm sure at 3GHz+ no K8 X2 will touch this chip.

I don't think that's right
Toliman is a Phenom with 1 core disabled, could it be the same for kuma

Who is they?

Sorry to reborn this thread but...

It's November and still no signs of 6500+?

My decision has to be made in about 3 weeks. this or the 9950.

maybe, like others said, might upgrade my 3800x2, even tho i fell in love with it cause it clocks @ 3.0ghz :D

I was told that these chips are going to be released in Q1'09. By told I mean, someone on XS stated this. Take it as you will but it's some food for thought. :D
