I was using my Xbox 360 with a Dell Monitor that was not mine, but I switched when I got a my own Dell monitor: a UltraSharp 2408WFP. I don't know what model the other was, but it was much like the one I have now. When I used to watch movies (like trailers and clips) on the 360 with the other monitor, the picture would show up very clear. This was through the component cable that came with the system. I'm using the same cable with the new monitor, but when I watch the same videos the picture isn't very clear at all and looks more SD than HD. The dashboard looks fine, but some of the ads that appear on screen aren't as clear. Some in-game videos don't appear like they should either. Can anyone help me out?

What resolution do you have your console set to?

What cables are you using?

1) Check your console resolution.
2) Do you have 1:1 pixel mapping on your monitor? That's a must-have until the Fall update for the 360.

I have the console resolution set to 1080p. My monitor is said to output up to 1080p. I'm not sure if it has pixel mapping, though.

A little more information on that other monitor - I remember it had silver buttons on the lower right side instead of the black ones on the 2408 and the buttons protruded out instead of having that dip. The stand was rounded. It resembled the UltraSharp 2001FP except it had component input!
