Hello,

I posted about this in another thread, but I think it should get its own. I've been looking at various RAM kits, and I've come to the conclusion I would like 8GB of RAM and be able to OC. After doing a little searching, I came across this kit:

http://www.ocztechnology.com/products/memory/ocz_ddr2_pc2_6400-p45_special-platinum_8gb_edition

It seems like it would satisfy both of my issues; giving me 8GB of RAM while being only 2 sticks instead of 4. Has anyone had any experience(s) and/or problems with these sticks? I have a P45 motherboard (Maximus II Formula) so I shouldn't have a problem, but I haven't heard much about them at all. Any input would be appreciated.

I recommend you be a guinea pig for us :D

Honestly though, don't count on those OCing well...

They might, but i'd definitely expect the opposite.

As long as you don't need more than 400 MHz on the FSB it seems you'll be okay.

I will admit DDR2-800 5-4-4 1.8v is actually really good. for a 4 GB DIMM.

I'm very curious what ICs these are using.

Got it installed, running well so far. Haven't OC'd yet, but I'll be happy with a Q9550 @ 3.4.
