Q6600 or E8400

Nevermind, this is an age old question. Shame on me for not searching more in depth :)
 
I would suggest getting the e8400. Runs cooler and has more cache and SSE4. I was in the same situation, but saw the Q6600 for $119 at Fry's and that basically made up my mind :)
 
I had a few 4.3Ghz E8400s and always came back to my 3.6-3.8Ghz quad. Its just smoother in games. Despite what others say when there are a ton of services running, like Vista, the quad can just handle that and the game alot better, even if the game itself doesnt directly support multi cores.

Also, running Fraps causes some stuttering in some games with dual core, just another example where more cores come in handy to handle multiple tasks at once.

Seriously? or is that a typo? retail or OEM? My Fry's is an hour away but I would be willing to make the trip for that price.
