I'm thinking of adding a bay res to my loop once my new case gets here... but I'm wondering. I remember when these were first being introduced and people were worried about cracking. Is this still a concern?

I'm running 3 DangerDen acrylic reservoirs on my 3 builds and I haven't seen a crack in the 3 years they've been installed.

DangerDen FTW!

I've been running a double 3.5 bay DD res for 2+ years without a single issue.

I just reinstalled my DD double 5.25 res the other day...............:D

It's like 4 or 5 years old now I think and there isn't any problems with it.

I got it way back when I built my first external box.................

And on my side you can't really see the res, as I have it mounted in a 5.25 bay.

Although, things will be changing shortly, as I'm moving everything to a new case. All of which includes new mods, and equipment changes.

I thought about dropping the bay res, and going for a tubular style, but I've been very happy with the DD. I just don't see the need to spend $45+ for a new res/possibly slightly smaller capacity.

I've run three different DangerDen bay res's in my rigs. The newest ones are super nice. Never had any problems. I highly recommend them.

I don't think Acrylic has the same stigma attached to it as it did a few years ago. The companies building acrylic reservoirs have learned from their mistakes and build them thicker with better adhesives. Heck, even the Swiftech Microres I'm running has lasted longer than other parts I've swapped out.

The only suggestion I'd give you is not to over tighten the Barbs and screw mounts for the bay down as that could cause micro cracking.

BTW, Bio-Hazard, what screening material are you using on your Mountain Mods case? I'd love to replace the windows with the knitting material you are using.

The mesh came from a security window manufacturing company around here where I live, a friend of mine used to work there before he got laid off due to slow business.

It's real nice heavy guage stuff that comes pre powder coated, so its cut and install.

I'll have to ask him if he can find out who the vendor for the stuff is the next time I see him.

I had a feeling it was custom as opposed to "go to Target and buy a waste basket" variety. If you can let me know, I'd love to swap the windows out with this screening material.
