Seagate ST31000340AS 1TB 32MB SATA HDD $110

FWIW, I canceled mine. Didn't feel like shelling out $180 between the 1TB drive and enclosure, when all my stuff that I -need- to keep is sitting on a pair of 320gb drives with over 200gb left.

But, I'll cross my fingers for you guys.

Got mine in today. Not that everyone's would necessarily be the same, but it's Seagate branded for OEM distribution. According to Seagate's warranty validation, the drive is covered by a Seagate warranty for 5 years (minus the two weeks Dell had it or being shipped, I guess). It's the correct part number, so hopefully you won't need to worry about this being a wrong part pricing error.

Pair should ship today. Gonna drop 'em into a DNS-323 networked to a Popcorn Hour. Now the fun begins, ripping 100+ store bought DVD's, 20+ HD-DVD's, too many CD's to count...

That's what I figured.

Same here. I can live with it, as the switches and the DNS-323 won't be here until next week anyways.

If they were gonna cancel, they would've done it. That's my theory and I'm sticking by it :)

Just got the email saying my hd was delayed, for me this is actually good news as it seems they're going to honor the order and not cancel it. :)

I'm in the boat with everyone else. Delayed until the 26th. I guess I can wait.

The last "price is too good to be true" deal I bit on from dell.com, it took them 5 days to cancel my order.

However I do find the delayed message I got today to be somewhat promising.

Delayed. So what now, is Dell going to slowly start canceling these orders?

Mine was delayed as well. Hopefully Dell doesn't cancel, or they will be getting some nasty phone calls :p.

Mine was delayed and then this:

Thank you for your order for a Seagate 1TB SATA NCQ Barracuda 7200.11 Internal Hard Drive. We regret that, because of a pricing error, we have canceled this order.

Damn...

Well, I haven't got a delay or a cancellation, yet. They did however give me a tracking number and confirmation that it shipped.

Damn, guess Dell didn't want my $$$ after all, got the cancellation email as well. Bastards.

they take you money, delay the money so they can use it as they wish. OPnce they have turne d aprofit using your money they refund it.

Huge Scam IMO. I try not to order form dell whenever possible. They write a contract, post up a "mistake" on purposece, get a free loan from 1000's of people.

Screw dell. My order was also canceled.

Guess I'll just be waiting for prices to get down there on their own. :(

They call this practice floating. With enough people companies can float on a ton of money, it's very illegal, but some do it anyways.

To dells defense, they probably got so many orders it took forever to review and cancel each one.

Did Dell actually charge everyone's credit/debit cards for the orders that were canceled? I looked on my credit card statement and there aren't any charges yet. Then again, it might take some more time to reflect any charges. I haven't received a cancellation email yet, though. Hopefully it goes through...

Mine was just delayed but i only ordered 1. maybe there just canceling orders with more than 1, who knows lol.

They might have only fulfilled the orders where they actually charged the card because they had stock at the time. Anyone after that when it went out of stock are probably going to get the cancellation notices. Just my theory :)

I had a hold on my credit card, but since I canceled it on my own, who knows what would have happened
I have a hold on mine and have not been cancelled, though I did get the delayed e-mail earlier. Logged into the site and my order still shows that it should ship on the 26th. I did put in my companies name though when it asked for the EPP info. I wonder if that helped since we're a large corp? Probably not, but who knows.

They did it to me 2 times in a row in less than 2 weeks. I hate them! Oh well...Lesson Learned.
