what program is the best for screenshots (and video)...? I see some with fraps but it's a pretty big hit on my fps if I use it...

F12, lol
In most games it will take and save a screenshot for you.

yeah, but what about all the stats up in the top right in a lot of the pictures...? which program is that...? and is it lighter on the resources than fraps...?

That's fraps. Some stats that you see, ie Crysis top right corner is a console command to bring up info.

Scaled down from the original 1680x1050 to make it more forum-friendly.

ahhhh, don't I feel stupid, thanks...

Never too late to learn. If you own Crysis, you can bring up console with ~ and type r_displayinfo 1 . That will give you a nice breakdown that I have going in my screenshot.

In games like COD4, you can do /cg_drawfps 1 . I don't remember TF2 command, been awhile since I have played.

Every now and then while playing TF2, I'll see a guy get killed and their limp corpse gets caught on something and makes them dangle. Thought it was funny so I took some screens of them :).

One of these screenshots though is just showing my [H] colors.....that is untill that servers Admin. told me to stop spamming his server with advertising, heh. I wasnt even thinking about advertising....just showing my colors.

Are you using any mods? Man...the Source engine still looks great. I need to replay Episode 1 some time.

Wow, those oblivion shots look great, I didnt know there was a depth of field mod out too.

There have been a couple. Qarl and Timeslip released the first one, and then later RPGBlackdragon released a newer one, which I believe is the one used in the above screenshots.

It's not a proper DoF though. Oblivion's engine still hasn't been hacked apart enough to expose the depth buffer, so even if writing new shaders were easy (which it isn't), the information isn't yet available to do a real DoF effect. If I remember correctly, what you see in the above is a very large transparent sphere that surrounds the player. The sphere uses the "Chameleon" shader, which has been overwritten with a blurrier (and less refraction-y) effect. I think RPGBlackdragon's mod attempts to resize the sphere based on what you might be looking at to simulate a change in focus depth, whereas Qarl and Timeslips's version was a fixed radius.
