Some of you might be able to relate here:

  • You're assaulting in TF2 maps and you walk around a corner and *POW* crit rocket to the face.
  • You're defending in CoH with your AT guns and some kraut drives his tank into your base and all your AT rounds are just bouncing off his front armour and he just blasts your AT crew to bits in a few lucky shots
  • You're running around in CoD4 and you get pwned through a wall when theres no obvious indication you're there.
  • You're running around in CS:S and somoene pangs you in the head with a TMP from across the other side of the map while in full spray mode.

Well rage no longer!

Do what I did and install a bullshit button :D

I've found it very theraputic to smack this thing everytime some lucky skank pulls off some gay little move which WTFBBQSAUCEPrawns you in the face. The problem with raging and shouting yourself is that it never leads anywhere good, this thing saves you going from muttering under your breath and shaking your head, to BAAAAAWWing outloud. Best £5.99 I think i've spent :)

Does anyone have any better methods for controling your gaming rage?

LOL, well...I've had quite a few rage moments in Quake Wars, such as:

1) I usually play as an engineer and when fixing anything broken on the battlefield, it seems that there's always a soldier with a rocket launcher that picks the thing I'm repairing (even if there are 3 or 4 others, next to it) and fires a rocket at it, usually killing me in the process.

2) Being fragged by the last drop of artillery fire, is an extremely frustrating event...

Among others...

My rage is usually directed at the keyboard. Never hit it enough to cause "destruction" though i.e. keys jumping off. In my NES days, I literally kicked the desk I had the console on. The "bullshit button" seems to be a better alternative :)

I've never struck/hit my hardware, it's all way too expensive for that, plus I have a glass mousemat which thumping would probably result in trip to the hospital.

I had a friend who used to rage at CS and actually square on punched his LCD which killed it instantly, stupid idiot :}

Anyway this this is pretty durable, you can *palmbutton* quite hard with little worry about it breaking, and it's got velcro to stick it to any surface to stop it moving around.

As I mentioned, I never really ruined any keyboard by punching it, but it is what usually suffers the most from my "gaming rage".
Either Logitech does some really sturdy keyboards, or I don't punch them that hard :)

I had a 19 in CRT monitor. Yeah punched it once in a fit of CS anger... yeah, I will never, EVER do that again. And that BS button is perfect for D2 LOD Hardcore.

Too bad it's not USB. :D (to pop up BS messages)

i used to punch my crt, never hard enough to do any damage to the monitor, but hard enough to leave my knuckles with a small sting. now i have an lcd so i usually just pound my desk, occasionally i'll get bruises on the side of my hand from pounding the desk too hard.

I have a very simple method to avoiding BS in games. Its called single player.

However I have been known to tomahawk a controller during smash brothers.

Heh, I almost broke my g15 in half a few weeks ago in a drunkin rage, TF2 noobie dominated me like 4 times with crit rockets and was laughing about it.

I'm not really prone to bursts of anger like when I was younger, so I surprised myself.

Decided it was enough for the night and went to bed, lol.

Hehe I've smacked a mouse down on an Icemat out of frustration once... it shattered into a very pretty and impressive (and satisfying) star pattern, and I spent the next week picking bits of glass out of the things around my desk. I've stuck with plastic/rubber mats since then...

when i had my old 17inch crt, i used to kick it, hard. almost full force when i got really mad. never caused any problems for me or the monitor.

Wow...er is that some kind of karate snap kick or soemthing, or is your monitor on the floor (dare i ask lol)

I need to get my friend one of these. He has now BROKEN completely, TWO SEPERATE G15 keyboards....he smashed one, and THREW the other one across the room, almost ripping his case off the desk at the same time because the USB cord was still attached....

...not to mention he ruined his first mouse (MX300) by tossing it....now he has an MX518....it quivers in fear....

I've seen people like that, a few at LANs and there was temper fit during a CS tourney once... oh man, it was priceless. The kid that tossed the fit was talking smack on how good he was, did rather well in the warm up games, then when it got serious he as totally getting owned and his brand new top of the line system mommy bought him took some serious abuse to the point that it would not even boot.

I think I'm the one that causes other gamers to go on rages and go over the edge because I'm so damn random when I play that the "hardcore" gamers get all pissed off because I'm "not playing the game right"... so I tell them"I'm playing, and it's a game, how wrong is that?" The best is when they are on MY server... hehe.

Yeah that was probably me. I crank the headphones sometimes and i'm pretty good at listening for movement. Also if our radar is up, i'll do it too. I'll just fire into the wall at any sign of life. If the radar isn't up in hardcore mode, i'll sometimes go down for a teamkill
What really bugs me is when i get killed by a random grenade at the spawn point, respawn and get hit with the first plane's airstrike, respawn and get hit with the last plane's airstrike. That's like 3 deaths in 15 seconds. grr....

I tried all sorts of methods after encountering the scourge when it was at its worse in CS.

I simply quit playing MP games on anything but private servers.

I either punch the palm of my hand or turn around and punch my mattress, but I've never punched hardware before.

I usually just direct my anger at myself instead of the hardware. Luckily I like myself so I go pretty easy.

Its usually just rage screams and facepalms.

I usually never ever rage.
But when I do.
OH man. I get so pissed.
I got a box filled with old pc hardware from the late 90's. and I maul on that all the damn time.
I used to slam my mouse down on my mouse pad a before. But then I broke my G5 and had to buy another mouse :(

That bullshit button would not stand a chance. I would pound that thing so hard that it would shatter.
A bad day of css is never a good thing.
