Has any one experienced this?
I have Vista 64, running on 4gigs and 4 Ready Boost and utorrent sucks up all of my ram.
Cpu 2% Memory 95%
Does anyone have a bypass for this?
I'm using uTorrent 1.8

prefetch?

I mean Superfetch.

It loads the most commonly used applications into the RAM. Basically, making use of unused RAM (It will drop these programs when you load up a game, etc)

I was just making sure your high RAM was being caused by uTorrent and not a "WTF Im basically idle and running at 75% RAM!"

Also, you said you're using uTorrent 1.8, isnt that in beta still? You might want to try and run 1.7.7 stable and see if that fixes it.

seems like it must be superfetch, in Xp with utorrrent going i only see about 20% ram usage

You don't want to disable Superfetch. It doesn't just run your uTorrent, but it fetches program data for all of your frequently used programs so that next time you call it up, it loads faster.

If you're concerned about uTorrent bogging your computer and/or network down, consider reducing the amount of incoming traffic in uTorrent's option. You're probably being hammered.

The thing is that it's a known issue with uTorrent n Vista 32&64 Bit.
Thought someone might have known a little work around

I'm still using uTorrent 1.7 (maybe 6, I dunno), and I've never had the problem you're describing. The solution is stop using a beta and go with a stable release :p

I'm using Vista Home Premium 32bit.

Had a similar issue with 1.7.7. That's why I went with beta.
I got O&O cache/memory software now and I have not incurred an issue.
Crossing my fingers.

Wierd, never heard of uTorrent having problems in Vista or 64bit, as Im running Vista 64bit and have no problems! Maybe try running a different program, I used to run Azureus, until I decided I hate Java. (Ex Java programmer, never want to touch it again!)

Global connections greater than 250 has been known to melt some routers(WRT54-whatever FTW). Also, when using your computer cap your speeds (I generally just cap the Upload to about half my max), uncap when youre just surfing, etc.

I took a java course once...failed it
Az. Is called Vuze or something like that now.
It did pretty good, but I got faster speeds through utorrent.
I might try something else.

uTorrent is only using about 8mb of memory according to task manager for me and there's a bunch of jobs going.

Vista x86, uTorrent v1.8

try halite, its half the ram usage of uTorrent and on the right ISPs really increase DL/UL

uTorrent sucks a lot of memory for me when I'm downloading at really high speeds and uploading some others at the same time. But when it finishes it goes back to normal usage. I don't really give it a whole lot of thought.
