I'm not sure what you are asking about with this. Also, CCleaner and those malware scanners you mentioned don't do the same thing, so they aren't really able to be compared. You also make no mention of what OS you are running, as that will have a huge impact on the answers.scan my cpu on the reg?

Between CCleaner, Ad-Aware 2008 and a good AV scanner, you should be fine.
No love for AVG? Heh. I've been installing that in lieu of Avast whenever I do any sort of repair job for someone, mostly because it 'looks' more pro... It sounds incredibly stupid but some people won't actually trust that you can get a decent AV for free so they'll go and do stuff like install Norton after I'm gone, then they'll have two different AV programs going, which always results in a royal mess or a slower system at best. Go figure...
