Hey, question for anyone that has this motherboard. I completed a new build with this motherboard - so far I've been very happy. When I plug a RCA cable into the S/PDIF connector on the connector block on the back of the motherboard, I get no audio. (I'm using a Pronus Firebox). I do the same thing on another computer, no problem.

I have set everything I know to set in Device Manager, Sound (in Control Panel), as well as the audio utility that ships with the motherboard, all to no avail.

Anyone with any suggestions? Thanks.

I think you have to open the audio manager utility (should be in the system tray) and tell it to play thru that connector. My gigabyte board is currently getting RMAd at the moment, but I'm sure the audio is the same between the two. The exact mouse clicks escape me at the moment, but I remember having the same issue also. I had to click around until I found it...but it IS in the that utility that you install with the driver.

I have looked and looked, tried everything, still no idea. I have messed around with about every Sound Mapper (I'm assuming that the utility you're speaking of) My output source is "Output digital audio source" on the Audio I/O tab under S/PDIF settings. I selected Digital PCM Output. Nothing is working.

I did not install a separate S/PDIF I/O card, I am only using the connection on the back of the connection block (USB, NIC, audio, keyboard, mouse, etc.)

Thanks for any help, I just have no clue why it's not working.

It would help if you could take a pic and post it. Let me see what you are connecting to what. Thanks!

Are you asking for a picture of the utility or a picture of the back of the motherboard were the connections are?

actually both would be helpful...My brain is mush right now and a pic is worth a thousand words!
