The beer company Asahi has brought together two of the things tech-nerds love the most, beer and robots. What makes this bartender even better is the fact that you don’t have to tip it...leaving you more money for BEER!
 
I heard the girl say bear but then thats all i could make out cos i wasn't really paying attention to it after she left.
 
Cute, but instead of spending millions building a robot to open beers, they could have just gotten a bottle opener for a $1.
 
I have to say, thats one of the most interesting/coolest robots that i've seen. If only it could brew beer too...

You don't tip any bartender in japan. You don't tip anything in japan. It's rude over here. Plus, everything is already expensive enough as it is!
 
Great, now I'm going to have to start bringing in a can of 30 weight for tipping.
 
That's very cool. I like beer and robots as much as the next guy, but I prefer beer and woman more.
 
Looks like beer is going to be easier to access now.

No ID check and I can easily just take the beer from the robot.

The video lies, horribly. This is NOT the first robotic bartender. If memory serves, I've seen three other completed ones since 2001 on HardOCP alone.
 
For a minute I thought they were talking about the blue "chick" from Mass Effect.
 
I tried adding robots and beer once.

All I got was a sticky, non-working Roomba that smelled like stale beer.
 
I'm sure that DARPA could do better.
