So i've got an XP desktop with two printers (HP, Epson) connected by USB and a laptop with Vista Home Premium. Now I scoured the forums with a few different search terms and I found some things that were somewhat related but not quite the same so please bear with me.

The laptop is wireless and we want to print from it. Its on the network, its online, it sees the shared printers on the network and it can freely move files from the xp machine to the laptop and back. When we try to connect to the printer, or add the printer - no dice. No response from the printers, and it usually tosses a 0x800f0214 error back at me (from the laptop). Both printers work great from the desktop - something is just getting fouled up when it tries to send data to the printer. I'm losing my mind. Perhaps someone else has run into this before and can lend some advice.

Welcome to the nightmares of Vista mixing with XP/2K3 and earlier...and printer drivers.

It's all up to the drivers available for your printers. Try updating the XP host to the very latest drivers..and try to "connect" to the printer again from the Veeesta rig.

If no luck...perhaps the vendors have a Vista only driver for the printer...install them "locally" on the Veeesta rig..then try to connect...or redirect the port to the XP share.

Yeah, I found that link through google but still couldn't resolve anything. The epson is an R320 and there is no vista driver available for download that I could find, just what came preinstalled with the OS. Both machines have all the drivers installed and its just killing me. I don't get what i'm missing.

I got the latest drivers for the XP desktop as well but still no dice. This just has me at such a loss right now, I think my hair is going grey.
