So, I can't take any more of this wireless BS with my keyboard and mouse. You have to deal with replacing the batteries, breaking/losing the dongle, signal reception, errors in typing ... ugh enough! I was looking at a bluetooth setup, but they are somewhat expensive and seem to have issues as well.

I want to switch back to a wired setup but I was attracted to wireless in the beginning because the lack of cables is a lot more attractive however it's just not worth it anymore. I would like a keyboard that has a USB connector on it so that I can connect the mouse to the keyboard to minimize clutter, keep my USB ports on my computer free, and as a general convenience thing.

The only keyboard that I know of like that is the apple one, and while it looks nice, the lack of a print screen key (among other things) kills it for me. Yes, I am aware of keyboard remapper, but the whole laptop style keyboard is not my thing.

So does anyone have any suggestions on a good keyboard and mouse setup?

edit: so I found that the new G15 keyboard has 2 usb 1.1 ports on the underside which would work fine for mice but the cord routing looks like a very nice touch. At $80 ($60 AR at the egg) it is on the high end of my price range, but doable - I don't game much so a smaller, less expensive board would work just as well. It is interesting though, that the usb hub is not listed in the specs on the newegg site.

I use the Logitech G15 keyboard and the Logitech MX518 mouse, and like them very much.

I found an old IBM Model M keyboard in the trash on the side of the road a couple of weeks ago. I used it to replace my current Model M. I'm in the process of converting the older Model M from PS/2 to USB. In the process, I am putting a PS/2 mouse connector on the keyboard. I could just as easily add another USB port.

If you're not afraid to get your hands dirty, that's an option - instructions for such mods are on the web. One advantage of the Model M (aside from it being one of the best keyboards ever) is that there's room inside for adding PS/2-USB converters and such.
