Post your "rate my cables" here

thanks :) but yeah the 9800GTX is a monster. im still not done with the cabling though. as soon as money becomes more available im going to get a different case and start a project.

Im debating on a TJ07, the new Lian-Li TYR x500 or a Lian-li v1010

My first build...

Wished some of my psu cords were longer, so i could go around. oh well, i'll redo some of the cable management soon, awaiting for few more parts. here ya go, pics.

A quick note: I have moved that one fan wire under the motherboard to a header at the very bottom. So, that wire isn't there anymore.

Other than that... What do you think?

Before, then After(getting my CM690, and painting it black all over :D)!......

Here's the mobo backside:

As for the missing dvd-drive, like I've said in 2 other threads here, it had a white bezel lol, so it's swapped. I know I could make my rig look a lil cleaner, I'm open to some comments and such . btw, yes I'll probably put @ least the sata cables thru the bottom hole like the other cables.

The one re-routing I would do is the cpu power cable. Right now you have it outed over the pci cards and up. If you look at the back corner of the case where the pci cards hit the mobo and the back of the case, you'll see that there is a gap that you can rout that cable through

bvet4dog, I would run the graphics card cable and motherboard power cables together, down the front, flush with the side of the motherboard, rather than using that extension cable. It would look much neater. Next, run the processor power cable up the back of the tray. Finally, run the front IO port cables down the back of the motherboard as well.

... What do you think?

well since you asked...

the good: i really like the mirrored finish in those LiLi's, and i always like the way lanparty boards look in general. i especially like the pairing of the organe DK series with the blue heatsink'ed RAM you've got there. i think orange + blue make a great color combo.

the bad: the stock intel cooler, obviously enough, but you said you'd be swapping that out. i'm curious: with what? also, some of the heftier wire bundles are still a little visually intrusive, but i've seen much, much worse. it also wouldn't hurt to sleeve the last few cables and wires you've got (fans, USB headers, etc.).

other thoughts, suggestions and ideas: i really think the blue/orange look would be great for this case. you could take it further by purchasing blue (non-UV) sleeving for your cables and wire bundles. actually, using blue for the larger PSU cables and orange for the smaller cables might be even better. you could also compliment the blue RAM with a blue-tinted after-market VGA cooler, such as the VFN-100 from Zalman. though since this is designed to be a passive cooler, you might consider pairing it with a PCI slot cooler for graphics cards (which i'd reocmmend painting to match the rest of your color theme). a few tastefully placed blue and orange LEDs would complete the look nicely.

however, it's your case, so do what you think looks best

Just got some 10" Sata cables to replace the 24" ones I had curled up in the bottom of my Stacker.

I think I've done a pretty neat job for a case with absolutely nowhere to hide cables. :)

I guess I will post mine. Though ignore the fact that its not to great, I don't have the money at 13years old for a bigger case.

SWEET! Another 541 owner! These things are rare on the forums. Heres mine (cables anyway).

Dude, your 541 puts mine to shame. btw, where are your hard drives?

It looks to be above his ODD in the 541. Sweet case BTW.

Yep, Its in my top 5.25 bay. At the moment I have both my Optical and HD on one cable but, I haven't ran into any problems yet.

If anyone cares to know. I painted the inside with Rustoleum Semi-Gloss black. Stuff is awsome, real nice texture for the inside. Doesn't scratch easily either (used Rustoleum car primer underneath).

Cable management was horrible before. Now it looks way better, but actually improved airflow greatly. I'll be changing the IDE HDD to a SATA HDD. The IDE cable makes it look sloppy. :(

Take that IDE cable, and where it goes down, have it tuck under the bottom of the motherboard, then fold it 90 degrees to the right so that it comes out from under the motherboard going right, then make another 90 degree bend so that it goes downwards and connects to your hard drive. That will clean things up significantly.

New mobo, cpu, hdd, PSU, and HSF

What's funny is that you can't see all that dust on the bottom in real life. I only noticed it after I took the pics. One day, when it cools down and when I feel like it, i'm going to run some of those cables on the bottom behind the tray and bring them out from under the mobo.

**EDIT**: It was bugging me after I took the pics, so I went and cleaned out a lot of the dust (really, the dust is almost invisible in real life. the picture makes it show it a lot for some reason).

I updated the pics above. I cleaned out the dust (cause it was bugging me after I took the pics).

^ The case all put together and pretty ^
IMG_0076.jpg

I know, it's cheesy, my gamer handle is cut into some scrap sound mat material and backlit with a cold cathode...
IMG_0072.jpg

I removed the fan from directly underneath the CPU cooler, so now there's just one right in front of it pulling cool air up that "should" go into the Zalman CNPS9500 AM2 (modified to fit Intel LGA 775 board)
DSC00827.jpg

I don't have a modular power supply, so all the extra wires are pulled up through the fan bracket opening and hidden (kinda) under the top piece of the case.

Yes, the CPU power cable is running BEHIND the video cards!
DSC00778.jpg

And yes, I'm running SLI (in case you couldn't tell from the 2 giant video cards...man the dust collects fast in this thing... argh.

Did you paid extra for those "SLi ready" memories ? I hope not. Having few extra SPD profiles is not worth the money.

No, they're pretty much just the same as other OCZ sticks with similar specs, just have a different heat sink... paid $95 at the 'egg and there's a $30 Mail in rebate...

Hey Empty, have you tried removing those fan grills? Since your TJ has a nice mesh to cover them up anyway. Or do you leave your wise open just like that?

There are times where I leave my case open for many days, and I got sick and tired of hitting my toes on the fans, I had some grills left around so err, I just used em.

The fan grills do not show from the outside, and if they do, it has a nice effect.
