LCD2490WUXi.... software discrepancy?

I bought the 2490 and its printed on the top right of my monitor that it is the 2490WUXi. BUT when I click on the menu buttons of the monitor and look at the model, it says 2690WUXi... which is extremely weird.

I also hear a buzzing sound coming from the back of my monitor - sounds a lot like a 2690WUXi.

Any ideas on what might be going on here?
 
Buzzing sound? That seems like 2690 :) What are colors like? Especially red and green? Are they very saturated or normal?

Btw, my 2690 is 55cm wide (x-axis, not diagonal).
 
I measured all the dimensions given by the NEC website and all show no difference.

What is the problem? Oh btw, the serial no. shown in the display menu is different from the serial no. pasted at the back of my monitor.
 
Heh, this seems like they gave you the wrong firmware. I'd contact the NEC support, I hope it is not as inept like NEC Europe :)

Whoa! NEC! That's the first time I see a rep of a monitor manufacturing company on this site :) Although in my country Eizo reps are quite active on forums, which really boosts the Eizo popularity :)
