AoC GM tells Guild to stop killing in groups

Lol.. sigh the goons are easy, even in groups. Less QQ more pew pew!

I am sure there was a lot of build up to this. goons are a bunch of tools and some of them go a lot further than others to cramp on others fun. even in wow, game masters will tell you to fuck off if you corpse camp someone long enough on a pvp server (had this happen to me once, but the guy I was camping desrved it, I swear!)

Yeah I agree, have you read their goonheim forums? Lmao, I bet its a bunch of bs.

lol they're not all that bad.

Plus, most of the guilds on the server have a "KOS" (kill on sight) policy on Goons (including the guild I'm in), so whenever I'm attacked, I usually get backed up by others.

Holy crap the goon system is such a scam its rediculous. 50-100 dollars a month to get a few fringe benefits in a video game to give themselves an edge over legit players. I give the founders some serious credit though; they managed to find the most gullible audience possible to give them mountains of cash.

I looked at those pics and I was wondering if it could be photo shopped by that guild just so they can get some "attention."

What fringe benefits? Please, tell me more. Their forums dont give up a whole lot.

LOL I somehow doubt the stuff you heard about is real.... it's probably just funny made up BS so they can laugh at people gullible enough to believe it.

Anyway, I somehow doubt this was neccessarily made up since Funcom is banning for mentioning it on their forums.

AOC could be good but being complete open pvp and allowing people to freely camp spawning point w/o any sort of penalty is bad

I only know from what I read in one of the threads posted on digg:

http://forum.goonheim.com/showthread.php?t=748

According to the thread they have some theorycraft calculators, bots, and knowledge of game exploits, all paid privileges. In one of the posts on their forum, theyre auctioning off a Guild Master position, and for some reason, these people are willings to pay thousands of dollars for it. On top of that, general members are forced to pay a massive guild tax on the gold they manage to farm, pvp for a minimum amount of time, and many restrictions that would make you think that someone should be paying you to be in their guild. They regard themselves as an "elite" community, and anyone who doesnt feel like paying into their system is a "pubbie faggot." Honestly, they don't sound like much more than a cult of douchebags.

Sounds like a bunch of weird people making up stuff to fool people, not anything real. You don't really think anyone doing that would be talking publicly about it and anyone would be talking like that on a public guild forum, do you? Gullible!

It did seem a bit weird at first, but I sadly know of some people that paying 100 dollars a month for such a scheme wouldn't be too out of bounds for, considering they sit in one room all day regardless. It's not too far fetched though, considering you have to pay $10 to sign up for their regular forums with no benefits other than being able to post.

So if it is fake, my bad. But honestly, there's no reason to believe its not true without reading more into their community other than that you'd have to be incredibly stupid to pay that much per month. And considering how many incredibly stupid people there are, and that SomethingAwful isn't exactly a meeting of brilliant minds, all this means is that this is a business opportunity waiting to happen.

I can think of a few people right now that are paying over $100/month for TV channel services, and people think that is normal, so I can totally see people dumping $100/month into a guild if they have fun.

Paying to be in a guild through monthly dues for 'in game perks' would be really sad...almost like paying for sex. I don't think its real either but just looking at OOC chat its funny seeing all the people falling for it. kudos to them.

Yeah OOC chat, people actually think it's all real.. I laugh. But on another note, I love how they only fight you when they got 2 or more people with them. The higher level goons by themselves always run away.

thing with AoC and the open PVP areas is, you can select another instance to enter if the one your in is being griefed... for instance this one newbie area, has like 20 instances...

Granted, it might be different at higher levels, but makes more sense that players would be grouped up with others or in a guild by then.
