Originally aiming for the polished gold keyboard and trackpad but after 20-some odd test panels, all of them looked too lemon yellow to match. So we stuck to the standard flat/metallic look. I'll save saying who it's for till I know they've received it as it's supposedly a present. Don't want to spoil the surprise by talking about it on the internet. Also finished a Macbook Air (being promoted through another company in the UK) for a different celeb but I don't have any photos.

Oh, it's okay Qtip... you can spread the word that you did this for me. Nice job, too!

the quality of your work is outstanding, but i just cannot imagine why anyone would want a gold one...that said, if everything were the same the world would be a bit of a boring place!

I believe someone would want a gold MacBook Pro so he/she could say "I've got a gold MacBook Pro!!"

Great work that Mac is amazing.

By the way, your in West Linn, Oregon? Cool i'm just a bit south in Corvallis.

Jeff

That shit right there is NICE, leet work whoever did it.

While the work itself is very impressive, that has to be the fugliest laptop I've ever seen.

Props for making it, but I have the question the taste of the person who paid you to do so.

nice, can't wait to see who it's for. :p

Got any pics of a polished aluminum one? The gold's nice, but a bit flashy for me, I'd consider polishing if I had some extra cash around. although it is hard to beat the original finish :p

Agreed, and can you imagine all the fingerprints that would show up on it?

Hey Qtip just wondering....but how much will one of those run me?

Also its great outstanding work! Keep it up!

It's a bit much but the difference is it's polished on the inside. Created quite a problem because there's so much plating it's tough to get parts back in the right spot. Price varies in the multiple thousands. If you must know, I use a toshiba laptop that has fallen off my car twice at highway speeds because I forgot it there :D

I could build one for myself because I have an extra MBP but I really can't stand the one button trackpad.

Not sure if you know but you can enable right click with that trackpad, just go into trackpad settings to switch it on. A click with two fingers on the trackpad will do right click, easy.

and trust me, after a little while it becomes quite natural to use

polished on the INSIDE? as in the inside of the case? or inside as in the palm rests, etc?

answered my own question...lol

I was gonna say, a polish on the inside of the case would be ridiculous. lol

All I see is a big "STEAL ME" sign, is there something wrong with my browser?

;)

I assure you P. Diddy does not read [H].. you can now confirm its his :p

"The reckless piracy of my music has crippled me financially. The lost income has forced me to settle with the 15" Macbook Pro with 24k gold plate, instead of the 17" model."

- 50 cent (not really)

This man is wise, I'm not confirming anything though. Just saying you're good at the guessing game.

Haha, makes sense, I know his son has a Colorware Yellow MBP (don't ask how I know :p), and I can't see Puff Daddy being outdone by his son.

:D

And on second thought I think the exterior shell looks amazing.

Qtip42 - I checked out your website. The blinged out pieces you make are absolutely not for me, watches are as close as I'll ever get to jewelry, but I have to give much respect to the work that you do.

Great great stuff.
