XP Service Pack 3 Kills AMD Machines

XP Service Pack 3 Woes-AMD
SP3 Loaded it self on thru auto up date-everything worked fine up until then. Now all games crash after about 5-10 minutes. Systems reboots ok and normal apllications like word etc work fine. I know there is a fix for the HP reboot prob but I cant find anything about this one. Its definitly the service pack. I dialled down the graphics and card clocks and it made no difference.I think I am looking at a reinstall if I cant find a fix . Any one else been having any probs ????

people need to pull their heads out of their asses when they keep saying its an amd problem when really its the OEMs fault.

Just rebuilt my AMD machine in my sig with XP Pro SP3.. bought a new OS disk with it already on the CD...

No problems

just got reformatted last week, tech put SP3 on immediately. Few "fun" quirks but for me the biggest issue is that SP3 seems to have really slllooowwweeeddd my computer down. It's like I'm trying to run it on 512 of ram or have 20 programs open (don't even have 20 programs on here). And it did something funky to IE7. Don't use it much, but trying to reset security for a specific site is a complete PITA.

Actually this isn't limited to HP computers, and it's not BS. See the blog everyone's referring to:

I'm in the process of trying to fix the second problem on my desktop as I type this.

Pisses me off so much, finally get my desktop working again (it has been broken for a year while I was away at school), upgrade to service pack 3, no problems, right?

Fucking computer starts rebooting with no error message constantly, when it had been completely stable for hours before that.

Then only after I start reinstalling from my old, old XP cd do I find that SP3 + my motherboard don't mix because I've got a usb mouse plugged in?!?!?! What kind of shit is that.

Upgrading with the full 300MB+ download caused my GeForce6 machine do nothing but repeatedly reboot. Then I tried the online upgrade, and it worked fine.
