Does anyone make an impressive (fans, lights, design) server cabinet? Like 72U double wide with doors.

I need something flashy for a server room fire suppression demo.
It will really only be housing a pair of lian li tower servers, a few switches and UPS.

Maybe just buy a steel cabinet, like this and add to it?

So many more options for small enclosures :(

I've always liked the quality and features of APCs NetShelter line of cabinets. Come nice and complete with a toolbag of needed parts and basic tools.

Plus supporting local economy to me...APC is based right next door to me in Rhode Island.

Yes, the APC racks are nice. They are a bit more expensive, but you get what you pay for.

I really like the black HP racks with the twin rear doors. I also still love the old Compaq 9000 series racks.

APC and Great Lakes

I also do like the new HP cabinets.

I love my Rittal racks (Rittal makes Compaq/HP and Dell racks)

Rittal frames have a lot of small holes/slots in the frames designed to let you get creative when you mount power strips, small kvm hubs, etc. things you don't really have on APC or Great Lakes.

72u? unless you are in a skyscraper, you won't find that. Highest they make them are the APC NetShelter with a 48u cabinet. Similarly, a double wide rack is kinda ridiculous...what do you need that necessitates a double wide rack as opposed to a regular wide rack?

If this is for a fire suppression demo, as a customer, I would expect to see something similar to what I have in my data center. That means a 40-42" deep rack, 24" wide, 42u tall. APC/Rittal/GreatLakes racks are pretty run of the mill. I true customer looking to drop $50k-$150k on a gaseous fire suppression system will not care about flashy lights or blue LED.

APC Netshelter, ftw and end thread.
Yeah, pretty much. We purchased a new Netshelter earlier this year and we also purchased two APC powerstrips to go with it. Cable management with these is easily accomplished.

I'm rather fond of rack products by "Middle Atlantic", myself. They are built like brick shithouses.

A little update. My corp has now gone to blades and we are getting the AR3350 30"x48" racks. these things flow air wonderfully. I put my CS-12VY ServerTech power strip in there with out problems. It is a great setup. We'll likely be going to chilled in-row cooling within the year.

I looked at Great Lakes, HP, & Belkin. I physically looked at the HP & Belkin in 24U and decided on the Belkin (nicer case for sure).

Great Lakes sure make a number of nice cases, I just haven't seen them up close (and shipping was too much since there was no local dealer).
