FRY's Intel Q6600 65nm Quad $206 shipped

I would rather roll my dice with something $200 cheaper. STill not a bad buy.

I ordered one on the 10th, with overnight shipping and it only cost me $201:). Still this is a great price, and I was worried about getting a G0 as well. Mine is indeed a G0 with a pack date of 3/14/08. It is humming along right now @ 3.4Ghz @ 1.38V in my new MSI P35 Platinum and 4GB of the PC8000 Gskill from Newegg. The Q6600 paired with a P35 board is a no brainer. I haven't finished testing the limits of mine, but so far I'm running 8x425mhz.

If you live in one of the states that has a B&M, you might as well go in and get it as you'll have to pay state sales tax on online orders anyway. Then if you're nice enough, you can ask for a SLACR.

I ordered mine a few weeks back from Fry's. Specs for those interested:
L743B300
3/13/08
1.225 vid

I got mine when they were 179.99. It's a G0, SLACR. Batch and pack date in another thread somewhere. But I have it at 3.8 for 24/7 folding with 1.48v. Runs quite nicely.

They are $6 more at Microcenter out the door including tax.

Just bought one with 2 day ship for $209
Hope it's a g0 (not that the difference is THAT huge anyway)

I got a G0 SLACR from Fry's when they were $186 shipped. Just dropped it in last night to burn in before I try to break it! ;)

Arg. The one I ordered last week showed up today.
B3 SL9UM
I'm not hoping to OC this to the moon, so hopefully it doesn't matter much, I'm just concerned about keeping it cool enough.

You're kidding! Wow. This is the first I've heard of a B3 still being in the pipeline ... wonder if it was a return or something.

Didn't appear so based on visual inspection.

The thing is an oven. 3.1ghz at stock volts under an AC Freezer 7 Pro at about 68c core temp.

Yeah. The G0 generally runs cooler and can tolerate higher temps. Shame. Personally, I'd try to exchange it.

Considered it. Although I'm not sure I have much justification for doing so.

Besides, somebody has to use the B3s.

68 is real high, mine ran at 58 on a zalman 7700cu at 3.4 ghz.

I have a B3 and it easily overclocks to 3.4Ghz, its true that the G0 runs cooler but that doesn't mean you should be cheap and use that stock cooler, buy an aftermarket cooler.

Intel Q6600 65nm Quad $206 shipped

this is really hot....the INTEl price cuts are showing up.

NE has this same chip for +30 bucks

I find this to be.......(I can't even think of a word for it without being rude). But anyways, not directing this at the OP on purpose but they were on sale for $179.99 BEFORE the supposed price cuts and I know dozens of people who got G0's at that price. I have not seen a single price lower than the price before the supposed price cuts. Leaves me thinking....(WTF are people thinking?) lol...i guess?

Most people don't live near a Fry's B&M store and from what I understand the $179 price was B&M only. So $199 is pretty darn hot for me unless I want to purchase a plane ticket. Nearest Microcenter is a 4 hour 30 min drive at interstate speeds. Thus the same deal.

My post was more directed at the price cuts, not the details of availability. I understand where they were and not everyone lives near a Fry's. I was mostly pointing out the fact that the current pricing is more expensive after the price cuts. Sorry for my confusion.

Ordered one about 2 weeks ago and got a g0 from OH. Unfortunately my WD 640 GB has died, so I have not been able to test out the OC on it.

I bought my latest GO Q6600 @ Fry's B/M when they were $189.00 a month or so ago.
On an Abit IP35 Pro using a lapped Tuniq T-120-LFB I'm @3.6 solid as a rock with 1.350v and temps in the low 120's.

On my WHS I have a GO Q6600 bought @ ClubIT ($289.00 - first release :D) running 3.2 on stock cooler..stock voltage and temps also in the 120's

It plain doesn't get any better than this.
