Windows XP Service Pack 3 is out again, grab it while it’s hot…or before it gets pulled again. This file is directly from Microsoft dated today so it should be the latest version. Thanks to Brian Longworth for the link!

Windows XP Service Pack 3 (SP3) includes all previously released updates for the operating system. This update also includes a small number of new functionalities, which do not significantly change customers’ experience with the operating system.

The download 404's. The directory the download link points to just isn't there.

or if you just run Microsoft Windows Updates, it'll ask you to:
Install SP3

or

continue downloading individual updates for SP2.

i downloaded it but havent installed it yet - i've seen too many users complaining of BSOD's and not being able to boot their PC's after install. i'm backing up my stuff first

Funny, not only am I getting 404 errors but also that the recommended downloads with this is "Microsoft Windows XP" Funny I didn't know Xp was downloadable, ok, So I do know that it is, legally from Microsoft but thats not the point.

Yesterday I received a Dell Spam about the Vostro so I decided to check it out and there is no Vista in the OS choice list.

Says it all right there.

Really? I just installed it on an old Athlon 64 754-pin machine, and everything went off without a hitch. And that was WITHOUT uninstalling a previous beta version as well (which is what you're supposed to do I think).

I apologize, I replied to the wrong person. That post was in regards to:

I'm at work and have put it on 4 machines so far without a hitch, all on a domain.

*knocks on wood* lol

Happened to me on my old Athlon XP machine. Oh well this time I'm waiting to see user experience....

Just installed, BSOD me completely. Cant even get it to boot in any safe mode. It loads through the load screen, shows me my mouse arrow then BSOD. Anyone got any advice?

I installed it a few weeks ago from major geeks without any issues. Wonder if I should reinstall it with this version to get what ever they fixed in it.

I slipstreamed the original RTM SP3 into my XP Pro install CD and reinstalled my OS... How is this new one different, and am I ok with the other one?

too many scary replies. screw this, im waiting a week or two to see what happens before im touching this.

I got 404's there for a bit and now it is fine, must be heavy demand...

I'm downloading now and am going to install on my 500mb nlited install. Will let you guys now how it turns out

I don't know why people are soo scared about this... it's just a bunch of cumulative previous updates from SP2 to now. Unless you like to individually install 98 updates.

I have this one on my work machine and at home. No problems period.

lol, went through and downloaded it from the link

5 minutes later auto update pops up and tells me ready to install SP3. doh!

You're not helping! You're trying to grab SP3 on Vista which means you don't need it! :D

I'm just messing with you

on a serious note, I've installed SP3 on 3 computers, no problems.

I've also been installing it on one company computer (in a domain) and that went fine too.

I grabbed it to. Too bad I can't put it on my web server. :(
That is warez. :(

I installed the one they had posted a few days ago, and just finished reinstalling with this one in case there was a difference. No problems at all. Went smoothly, took maybe half an hour. No noticeable differences.

I did the same thing without any problems. I got my SP3 from the Geek Squad when it became available a couple weeks ago. Everything is perfectly fine.

Will grab this tonight for my home system, already have a clean install so if problems occur I can just do another clean install. :D

Ran windows update to install SP3 on my two workstations at the office successfully.
No issues after install :)

Used nLite to slipstream last week's SP3 with no problems.

Same, using the latest nlite beta. Slipstreamed and installed in a VM to test before deployment on my desktop. XP RTM --> Slipstream SP2 --> Slipstream SP3
