EVGA Exclusive Precision Overclocking Utility

Does anyone else have trouble viewing EVGA Web pages with Firefox?

 
It should have all the things 99% of users need from Rivatuner and Unwinder has been a part of making it so if you use rivatuner nothing more than the graphics differ from that tool.
 
in their pictures on their page, they have the temperature and clocks on the screen at the top left corner. Is it possible for me to enable that somehow?

Click on the little wrench on the main screen. Go to the monitoring tab, and click enable on screen monitoring. It should start up a little server.
 
I like Rivatuner better also. Just wanted to see what it was all about. I just wish nvidia would fix their driver issues with the 9800GTX so my cards don't throttle down when they hit 60*.

Ive been using it for about 2 weeks, to help work out the bugs. :D

I love the G15 feature and the FRAPS-Like FPS and Temperature Gauge. :D

I like rivatuner, but i dont really need 10 different profiles to run off of. And hopefully we will come out with different skins and some fixes if need be.

Also, remember to EXTRACT the folder before you try to run it. Some people try to run the installer without extracting and get an error. :p

So, please for those of us who are ignorant, what can this EVGA thing do that RivaTuner can't.

I use RT and find it to be the most excellent tool.
Anything is better than ntune, even nothing.:eek:
 
Yep, going to try this tonight, its cool that they did the G15 thing, I wish more companies would start putting that into their programs or at least put an API up for it.
 
RT is indeed awesome, but it can be very fussy also.. I have had problems where it has screwed up the clocks on my second card in SLI, which made both cards default to the lowest factor clock setting and it was a PITA to fix.. the second time it happened I knew right away what was up and it was easier to deal with.. anyways, I am not in the market (per say) to replace it, but I am always on the lookout for a better util.. if this util is less fussy and easier to set fan speeds + OCs in SLI after a driver clean + install I might be a fan. we'll see.
 
It works good with Vista Ultimate and a GX2.

I like it better than RivaTuner due to the GUI. With RivaTuner, you had to dig around more to find what you wanted.

With Precission, you can opt to have your custom setting applied at startup, and/or to have the application load too.

Did I miss something? Rivatuner can overclock and so can Precision. Is there something else you are referring to?
 
I tried out this utility last night. The default settings for my 8800GTX were 590 core, and 900 memory. So, I overclocked the core to 650 and the memory to 1100 (Ultra speeds?). Ran it through a 3DMark 06 bench and the the numbers were definately improved.

With my cooler the temp never went over 58 with load (I love my cooler).

All of that can riva do to at startup, i only see GUI and simplicity to use as only reson using EVGA Precision Tool instead of Riva it self both are 100% or partly made by same man so the simularities between them are logical.

Real-Time on-screen display support for ingame temp, framerate, and clock monitoring

Q. What is the difference between "Apply at Windows Startup" and "Start with Windows"?

A. Apply at Windows Startup sets your current clockspeeds and fanspeeds at Windows bootup, it does not start the actual utility, to run the actual utility at select "Start with Windows."
 
Off topic.

RivaTuner is a good program but frankly the creator Unwinder seems like a gargantian dick...excuse the flame. Went to Guru3D and read through those forums and most of his responses were arrogant and obnoxious. He mentions he doesn't support RT on those forums yet he has no problem flaming people left and right and they all kiss his ass....yes Unwinder..yes master. People are supposed to read through the release notes and guides..etc..but he has to keep in mind that new people try that program all of the time and will ask noob questions. After reading many of his obnoxious responses I lost respect for the guy. He makes a good program but that's about it.

RivaTuner has an in game temp, framerate, and clock monitoring.....

Guess you got me on the Logitech keyboard thing, unless there's a plugin for RivaTuner that I am not aware of. Don't have a G15 so don't know of one.....

I can track the temp and clock of both my 9800's in game. Not sure if it does 4 GPU's but I would guess it does.

I can see all my devices, driver, memory size, and sli mode in RivaTuner....

Skins? Meh.... to me not that big of a deal.....


I am not trying to one up you Ranger, just you made it sound like RivaTuner was such an inferior product. Considering the author of RT put in some effort with EVGA toe get Precision to run all the ingame diagnostic stuff, in fact it's a version of the RT statistics server that allows Precision to do the ingame stuff. They both have their purpose, and Precision is definitely easier to use than RT. RT can be very confusing. Now give me the ability to ramp the fan up as the GPU temps get higher and I am all over Precision.

Just me 2cp worth......

All of this is true.
I still like RivaTuner.
The evga program just seems to me to be a watered down RivaTuner for those who are too lazy to learn the inside of RivaTuner.
RivaTuner is not user friendly by any stretch and isn't supported except by guys doing trial and error it seems.
Once in a while the Unwinder will throw in a bone that makes things clear, but it's few and far between.
I hope the evga tweak is better supported and just as sophisticated.

Actually I like Precision since it works quite well under Vista64

It's a free program. He could not visit the forums as he's almost decided to in the past.
He obviously isn't a people person, but people too lazy to research and need mommy to handfeed them doesn't help.

Agreed.
But the guides are written for morons and the release notes don't help much.
At least for me, I can't seem to find a good middle ground of information.
What I generally have to do is just search around the Guru3D forums until I find something close to an answer.;)
 
Unwinder also pops in @ Rage3D at times. :)

Anyone else having problems getting this to work with their G15. I enabled it under monitoring but nothing on the LCD even after a restart
 
Worked instantly with everything, including the G15 display.

Oh, and it's not "EVGA Exclusive". It works perfectly on my Club3D 9800GX2.
