A German syndicate announced that they have patented a smell-phone that uses a chip that can send scents via text and multimedia messages. If all goes well, the specially-enhanced phones will be available in 2010. Thankfully, people with these phones can reject messages.
A spokesperson from mobile services company ConVisual told reporters at The Local that people could send the smell of the ocean breeze through cell phones from vacation spots or mark special occasions by sending an aromatic two-dimensional bouquet.
