A German syndicate announced that they have patented a “smell-phone” that uses a chip that can send scents via text and multimedia messages. If all goes well, the specially-enhanced phones will be available in 2010. Thankfully, people with these phones can reject messages.

A spokesperson from mobile services company ConVisual told reporters at The Local that people could send the smell of the ocean breeze through cell phones from vacation spots or mark special occasions by sending an aromatic two-dimensional bouquet.

hmmm... what does it send smells with?

the article gives the dumbest reason for why there is a market for a phone like this, but what do i know?

so could you send a scent through the phone that smells like after someone taking a big cr.. ........ I think you know what i was trying to say :D ... I think its useless. I know for sure i wouldn't be getting one :)

Didn't a similar device for PC gaming completely fail to take the market by storm about 5 years ago?
