trackmania wont open

so i formatted the comp, clean xp, installed my shit. installed steam, downloaded all my games and said, why not i dl trackmania since i saw it in the free stuff section. i double click, select launch trackmania, nothing happens. deleted local content, downloaded a day later. same thing. any ideas?

Other Steam games work ok?

It's a DLL problem related to DirectX. If you go and find the actual executable file for trackmania it will tell you which file is the problem. Or just reinstall the latest direct x and you'll be fixed.

hmm, my friend tried one of the directx 9.0c march 2008 downloads which i gave him a link to, but it says it is not a valid 32-bit application when he tries to install it. Can someone please post a direct link to the latest directx 9.0c he can download? He is having the same problem with game not opening. He has a 9250 PCI card. Thanks
