Alright, heres the deal. I lost the first disc to my UT2k4 game, and I am looking for a download of the game that is NONCRACKED so I can put in my CD-key to it. I know that gameplanet had a full download of WoW, because I used it often when I destroyed my disc 4 for the game on accident. I was just wondering if gameplanet or any other place has a thing like that, a full copy of UT2k4 that isn't cracked so I can use my key and play online still.

flint338......I too!!!:p Soz to Shlomo...but its good how he wrote it...cause if he didn't include those words...he could've been banned!!! Like what happened to me on another forum!!!

I think if you could go to one of those sites and get one of those files that you can put into a program to get the DVD image you're looking for, it would be acceptable considering you already paid for the game. Of course, if you know someone that you can borrow the disks from, that would be even better, but I assume you don't since you're posting here :).

No, because distributiing a full copy of UT2K4 would be software piracy, wether a CD key is included or not.

With that said I know that Steam now offers Unreal 2K4 along with a lot of other id software titles. You may be able to input your CD key into Steam and have it download the game for you as part of your Steam games library.

Retail keys (other than Valve's own of course) generally don't work with Steam. I just tried my retail UT2004 key and Steam wouldn't activate it. Which makes sense, Valve didn't get a cut of the purchase, they're not going to donate their bandwidth to everyone who buys retail.

Sorry to say the legal remedies are probably limited to getting Atari to replace the CD, or repurchasing the game.

Call the company, you will be surprised at lot of times they will just send you all the disks again for a small shipping fee.

aiight, I dont know what you can or cant say but I am going to say it anyway.

I own 4 legit and working keys for 2k4, and recently got Unreal anthologies free (which includes another 2k4) when I pre-ordered UT3 (which is crap BTW) I find it a pain in the ass to install 2k4 w/ 6 CD's, so I downloaded the image file from the largest p2p application on the internet. I can easily just mount the image and install using one of my keys. 2k4 doesnt require the CD to be in the drive during play since it requires a unbanned key, so having the image makes things so much easier. Last time I checked it was perfectly legal to have a backup copy of a game you purchased. If the game provider wont send you a copy, then I would go this route, as I personally dont see it as piracy, since its an online game that can only be played if you have a valid unbanned by epic key.

You weren't allowed to discuss this ^.

*shrug* But it doesn't bother me. Seems perfectly reasonable.
