Soyo DYLM2284 22" thoughts

$200 for a 22" that's almost certainly a TN panel (I think they pretty much all are) is not really that great price. I would recommend another brand for a few dollars more. You should be able to find a BenQ, Acer, or even a Samsung for the same price after rebate.

Also, with the other brands you would likely get a much nicer stand. The stand looks very similar to the one that came on my 24" Soyo (1920x1200, M-PVA panel) and it was really pretty junky.

I signed up for 1 of these should be here Fri....Don't really know a good LCD from a bad one but I bet it'll smoke my 19" NEC CRT.....It's gettin delegated to 2nd mon status. And I can trash the noname 17" CRT I had been using as a 2nd. Looked like a good deal to me I've been watchin auctions on Ebay and ppl have been payin $200 for used 22's w/ no warranty....Almost all the new ones go for way more than $200

I ordered two of these. They are great screens. Only trouble I have is one has a few dead pixels. I called TigerDirect and they are shipping me a new screen asap. I still say its worth the two hundred bucks though.

There's an Acer for $220 and a Samsung for $240 AR on Newegg right now. I didn't even look around.

Just be aware of Newegg's return policy on monitors. If I recall correctly, they are non-returnable. So if you get dead pixels or other problems, you are out of luck.

You can RMA but not return -- same as with motherboards. I suspect if you said you were going to buy something of the same or greater price they would be willing to swap out -- you just have to talk to a customer service rep and be somewhat insistent.

The only rough part is the "no RMAs for dead/stuck pixels unless there are 8 or moe" bit. Sadly lots of stores have really bad return policies like that for LCDs.

TigerDirect didnt even care if it was one dead/stuck pixel. They told me no worries gave me a RMA # shipping off the new ones right away overnight, and gave me labals to put on the boxes to send the old ones back, no out of pocket cost what so ever not even for shipping.

I don't see any dead pixels on mine just 5 stuck on red in a vertical line near the top edge....Does Tiger cross ship? I'll live with the stuck pixels if I have to be w/o it! It totally rocks all over my old NEC CRT. Looks 100% better than it....I'm very happy. I think it's a TN panel as the colors do invert when looked up from the bottom at a very high angle.
