so
if you are using a 30" with 0.25 pixel size and 2560x1600, the fonts might be to small for reading (particular if you are putting the screen some what away from your nose ;) )
So
How can it be fixed? how in Windows Vista or Linux I can change it so I will use 2560x1600 but have a font size and icon size bigger (but yet, won't be "rubbish" to look at) ?

in internet explorer you can CTRL+scroll whell to increse/decrease font size. In vista you can do the same to Icons to increase decrease. CRTL+Scroll whell.

Bring up your display properties (right click on the desktop and select properties) and click the appearance tab. There is a dropdown for Font size. Select Large or X-Large. Warning: some software doesn't scale their windows to font size so the text will not fit on in the window.

Here's what I do: Right click desktop to get to Display Properties. Then click on Settings tab, and then click on Advanced. There you will see DPI Setting. I have mine set to 105% but you can play around with it to see what you like.

For web surfing, I use Avant browser. Under Tools, Avant Browser Options, you can set your zoom level so that everytime you open a webpage, it is at that zoom level. I have mine current set to 120%. Avant can be downloaded at http://www.avantbrowser.com/
