so
Can I use a 30' LCD screen as my main computer screen when I am sitting no more than 70-90 cm from it?
Is it possible or I will have a really bad headache ?
It sure looks amazing for the high res, but how is it when you are not sitting like 3 meters from it like the TV on your house?

I tend to sit as close to it as I did to a 20'' monitor (roughly same pixel size), everything will look the same, only with more space on all sides.

i dunno about that, i sit a lot further back than when I had my 20". I sit prolly a foot further back now.

ead, try going to an Apple store and checking out their 30". I've never encountered headach from an LCD monitor, but I read some reviewer having issues using a 32" TV as a monitor and having headach. You won't be able to do anything with a 30" monitor sitting 3 meters away, that's for sure, it's just way to far.

I sit the same distance away from my 3007 as I did with my 20.1" viewsonic. To me its like Benny said, looks the same theres just more room.

I sit closer to my 24" than I did my old 17". Sure it's bigger but the resolution is also higher thus my text size got a little smaller. I sit where I can read best, not where it is comfortable to view the whole screen.

It also depends on what you do on the screen, for normal work, the sitting distance will be dependant on text size, and your eyesight.
When gaming you could ether stay close, filling your vision (ideally changing the games field of view to match sitting distance and screen size)
Or you could sit further away which would result in filling as much of your vision as with a smaller screen, but displaying more resolution.

The headaches I had when using a computer go back to the time I did not care much about an ergonomic workplace.
A big screen on the same table as a smaller one will change the angle you look at the monitor, depending on the used chair this could soon lead to neck tension coupled with headache. A to high brightness setting could also have a more noticeable effect on a bigger screen.

The text I feel is too small on a 30" display due to its 2560 x 1600 resolution. Text on a 22" or 27" display at their native resolution is perfect for reading.

a matter of habit and personal preference, strongly influenced by genetic and age related factors.
And in programs that allow for adjusting text size (or simply show a page scaled to fit the screen), a higher per inch resolution will give you clearer less pixelated text.

I sit the same distance away from my 30" as I did my old 22", it doesn't give me a headache but you do find yourself having to move your head slightly to see things in the corners clearly. Moving away from your monitor should be easy, just slide the stand further back towards the back of the desk and give yourself a better viewing angle.
