thanks. and wow those are some serious money. what is the point in having a case that big, other then airflow.

btw Loco, two modems?

Yeah the internet is so slow that I need two. :(

8mbps/768kbps upload and the ping is from the crap speedtest server.

Also Im currently working on cleaning old stuff so right now its a mess, also working on getting the wires cleaned up a bit more and MAY buy more UPS but they will not be for 1 computer only (talking about 4200VA, 6400Watts.)

Galants are freaking awesome... but since I'm still living with the rents in my own room, my workstation is in me bedroom... so I remain part of the Jerker crew ;[

I couldn't find the receipt, but this is what I came up with by pricing parts on Ikea's site. My particular setup includes the basic Galant L desk + the 30 inch extension. You can save money by going with the white finish and the A legs if need be.

1 GALANT table top with frame
beech veneer
$159.00

1 GALANT table top with frame
beech veneer
$60.00

1 SIGNUM cable management, horizontal
$12.99

3 GALANT T-leg
$90.00

Total: $322

I'm glad you like my monitor setup. The monitor is sitting on two rubber feet to keep it from sliding and there is one rubber foot on the back to keep it from scratching the wall and to keep it parallel to the wall instead of angled up. I also put two rubber feet on the bottom of my Macbook to raise it up and help the cooling a bit. The most important factor is it is easy on my neck.

The stand ($25):
JÄRPEN
beech veneer
$15

Forgot the name of the legs, but they are 6" and I think were about $10.

The leather Ikea pad is great because it protects the desk and acts as a mouse pad as well. I have never used a gaming mouse pad, but I honestly think it is a perfect surface for flinging the mouse around. I think it looks classy too.

Oh and I think I may have broken the NDA on my USB Drive. He has an undisclosed amount of "solid state" storage.

Hmm I want to get this same setup but i gotta buy the pieces separately I wonder how to do that?? Which piece should i get first if you were in the same situation?

I was thinkin about getting the regular legs instead of the T legs to cut cost.

Here's my little setup

Thanks!! It's actually my first real wood project, i just took a very cautious approach to it and took all the time i needed. :) it's basically 2 pieces of 1/2" birch held up by 2x6" cheap fir. sanded the hell out it all down to 220 grit then treated the top with a single coat of natural stain and 3 coats of semi gloss :). turned out pretty good, but has rough edges and didn't turn out as strong as I had hoped (working on that though)....lol. learned a ton in the process.

P.S. friday movies are win :p

LunchboX3904, I love how that old Pioneer equipment looks! Is it me, or did they build things better back then?

I should post my "old-school" audio too then....doesn't look as good as that, but it sounds great.
I need to dust, I know :)
This is coupled with an AIWA sub, 2 Sony floor speakers, and 2 Nakamichi small speakers (not too small!).

hahahaha yea i need a new chair.

thanks for the compliments on the audio stuff! believe or not, it was actually given to me with some huge matching pioneer floor speakers that are in the living room. It all sounds quite good too. The volume knob has a little static when adjusting it and you have to fiddle with the speaker-A switch to get it to work right, but works perfect other than that. i've been looking into getting some bookshelfs and a JBL 10" sub to replace my logitech z5300e speakers and running em off the beast (BB employee discount ftw) :). cant decide between the JBL Monitors ($80), klipsh b-2's ($92) or the insignias ($40)

Here is mine, custom made desk using a solid core door + 3 table legs from ikea. Total cost ~175$.

The desk has been cleaned up since underneath due to the wiring and is much cleaner. Also the case has a new 9800GX2 on the right.
