Those don't look like dead pixels... they look like impact damage. I know as my 17" has little specs inside the screen like that after catching a remote hard enough to get a nice white scuff. Its not its physically broken or cracked, but just that the pixels are stuck grey in these little tiny areas.

Nothing has impacted the monitor. I'm the only one using the computer. But I'll keep that in mind.

Thanks.

If those are really dead pixels and they are not the result of impact damage, you have a warranty return on your hands. I count clusters at the bottom left and bottom right.

Turn off the monitor and shine the screen up to a light and ENSURE that there are no impact marks on it. If there aren't call up BenQ's 1-800 support number and get a warranty return.

Those can't be impact marks. I'm very careful with my stuff. I have no children.

Since the very beginning I had one of those marks in the lower right corner of the monitor, right over the Time task (8:26pm). It was a diagonal tiny line, just like of those shown in the pic above. I noticed it a few days after purchasing this monitor. I didn't care about it, so I let it go.

Now I notice that it's gone!!!!!

Hey I'm only trying to say ensure that they are not, or BenQ will try and charge you, or drop warranty.

If those marks do not show up on the actual surface of the screen, send it back in for warranty. That's what it's there for.

There are definitely enough for a warranty return.

Those definitely aren't single dead pixels. They're either clumps or damage to the screen its self.

those bastards look like those damn UFOs............ lol!!!!!!!! :D :D :D

Those don't really look like dead pixels because the black is kind of half way on and half way off some of the pixels.

P.S. As of this post, I HAVE ATTAINED THE STATUS OF GAWD! MUHAHAHAHA! And it took a damn long time too... :D

How can that be? Please elaborate. Thx.

Same way leafs get into a cars ventilation system, I've even hear of bugs getting into screens like this.

I'm gonna have to eat my words, but yep. I just tapped and shook it around and it moves, so its dust in my case. With a large 24" I'd be more hesitant.. might even have to take the bezel out which raises all sorts of possible disasters.

Given how random LCD dead pixels can be: tough luck pal, sorry about the dead pixels. Better luck next time.

I had that problem when I got my first FP241W from NCIX. It was a mark that looked just liked that at the very top center of my screen. It was there from the beginning though and i sent it back for another one. One I have now doesn't have any of those marks.

edit: double post wtf has this forum server been downgraded to a Pentium II? Its practically too slow to use anymore. Its taking like 2 minutes to load anything, that is if the page even loads at all.

Yep, [H]ard|Forum has been really slow for me as well lately...

guys, now the mark from the left is gone! There is one now only (from the right).

WTF!

The mark is definitely in the panel, not outside. (I can see it inside).

:confused::confused::confused::confused:

Hello.

It`s dust behind dot matrix - on backlight.
Got same with all 3 NECs 20WGX2 PRO I had (2 times RMA).
I wanted to buy Benq FP241WZ *tomorrow*, because I just can`t stand
this dust specks appearing from nowhere in my 20WGX2 PRO, but now
when I see that Benq FP241WZ has same problem I completly don`t know what to do :(
Maybe just buy cheapest 22 - 24 LCD and if it will broke - wipe it thru window and buy another...

Damn this...
