EVE-Online a good game ??

HDR + AA is doable, I think. There's another thread about it here, so you can search for it. You might also want to check on the offical EVE forums and see if anyone's gotten it working.

To be honest, I still use the classic client and am very happy with it. The new graphics are nice and all, but it makes my connection lag beyond belief. I'll be sticking with classic so I don't get lagged out during when I jump in and need to escape a gate camp.

I have been playing this game for about 4 months now and i have been doing missions and i got my battleship about a month ago. Level 4s have become really easy right now and i really wanna do some PvP now but i dont really know how to start or what to do. I got 100mill that i could spend on building a pvp battleship or something. I just really need some direction on how to start PvPing

The type of PVP depends on the type of person you are or what corp/alliance you are in. You can either just go to lowsec and kill people like pirates do, ratting to regain your security standing back. Or you can be Mr. White Knight and try to protect carebears by taking their money as a mercenary and killing people that are harassing them. Or you can fight over 0.0 space if you are in an alliance that holds some. Most importantly though, realize that money doesn't make a good PVP'er. Tactics and numbers count for more then isk anyday. Control the engagement, don't be afraid to fly away to fight another day. Start out in cheap ships like t1 cruisers, lose a bunch of them, and then once you have the hang of it start using more expensive ships. It's too easy to die in EVE, so don't feel the need to risk all your money on what you think you need. A bigass battleship can't do crap against another ship if it can just warp away before you kill it. Tacklers and ewar are always needed, and that can easily be done in t1 frigates and cruisers.

OldPueblo speaks the truth. If you decide that 0.0 pvp is what you want to do then it's critical you get into an established corp / alliance. Most alliances have some sort of pvp happening every day in their space as they defend it. There are a crap load of tactics to learn that are completely different than Missioning tactics so you will have a lot to learn. This is why it will be important to fly Cheap ships until your comfortable with the tactics of PVP.

Look us up if you want to come out for some roaming gangs sometime. You can contact me Ebstein in game, or 5inistry, or sonofapharmicist, or Morbidpenguin for any questions if you want.

I am in a corp, no alliance though, its a carebear corp and i joined it because my friend was in it and he is a big time carebear also. I'm really tired of high sec and im gonna use my thorax and try to get use to low sec pvp. I am in auvergene in sinq laison region, i dont know if thats close to where you guys play. I would'nt mind joining your corp or if i cant can you recommend me a corp that goes low sec because i really wanna play with a group in low sec.

An update:

It's an exciting time for [H]ard Corp! We just made a big move by leaving BOS (which is disbanding for a few reasons - war attrition, we hate the name, we want to keep our 0.0 property) and joining IAC. This affords us the opportunity for a lot more PewPew (empire wars and 0.0), security, and the ability to work in larger gangs/blobs and keep our current space (which would have been very hard in BOS).

The corp is doing great and we're up to 67 members, which is more than we've ever seen before. We're meeting these challenges head-on and all our directors are giving it our best.

Big plans for [H]ard Corp in the future include:

More capital pilots
Corp killboard
New Corp forums (maybe?)
T2 Production Line

It's a great time to join. Stop in at the Hard Recruiting channel or just convo MorbidPenguin, Ebstein, 5INISTRY, or any of our other great members you happen to see in space.

What an interesting development for the [H]ard corporation. It will be good to see more people joining IAC. Drunkswarms anyone?

If you need any help getting acquanted with the area, shoot me an eve-mail or convo "Kai Lei" in-game. We have a large European and North American tz population.

I really want to get back into Eve and the [H] Corp. I stopped cuz my subscription ran out and the day before it ran out I was podded, at that point i was like fuck it for now. Someday i'll come back though. <3

We spend 90% of our PVP time out in 0.0 space. I'm not sure about low sec corps. I know there are a lot of pirate corps but I'm not sure about anti pirate corps. I think ARS Ex Discordia corp is prolly one of the better Empire corps that pvp's a lot. Not sure if they are mostly low sec though.

I'm brand new to the game, and am just playing the trial right now. So far I'm liking it :). Can I shack up with you [H] Folks? I'm a super-newbie, so Only accept me if you don't mind dumb questions ;).

Good for you [H] leaving BOS.
Quite Frankly I didn’t see Brotherhood of Steel living for much longer as you guys were too small and trying to play in a 0.0 area with a lot of big boys. Sooner then later, you were gonna find you self on the wrong end of a fleet, kissing your 0.0 good bye.

I am sadly going through a rut in EVE, I have no inertest in playing it right now for some reason. I had been spending huge amounts of time at the start of March playing EVE and having a great time. I was getting stoked about going back to the Front lines in Delve and bought a bunch of ships and everything. But now I find my self just wasting my time in station and then loggin off. I know it doesn’t help that I am currently wrapping up Battle Ship 5. It also kind sucks that I am a Caldari Missile user with only 2mil in gunnery, so my use during a fleet is most times support.

This game can really get to me at times, I look at all the skills I need to get to 4 or 5 and I feel like I will never get it done. I have 26mil SP now and while I can do almost everything, I can’t do anything very well; which makes me feel useless. Also I have an Alt who is now maxed out in Mining, and I find my self never mining. Feels like a waste of a character, I might sell him.

I guess I need a break from Eve for a bit to get my love on back for this game.

Give us a shout in the Hard-Recruiting channel. Or drop on by our office in Tew which is located in empire and fill out an application. Don't worry about being a newb. We all are in one way or another. :D

I'm not entirely sure how to do either of things yet :).

If you click on the fourth button from the bottom on your Eve toolbar you can then go to player channels. Click join and type in Hard-Recruiting

Make sure to include the dash. In regards to filling out an app when your at stations you'll notice a corporation office tab on the screens to the right. If you scroll through those you can right click on certain corps and choose apply for membership. I think that is what it says. Corporations will have offices in different systems and we have one located in Tew.

Thanks I'll check it out :).

What an April Fools joke we pulled on Roadkill and Atlas Alliance last night! They reset their standing to IRON and started an invasion of our space. Surprise, Surprise we broke out our brand New Titan, a Leviathan Class. Pop went most of the attack fleet in a flash of light!

We made serious Fools out of them for resetting us.
:D

what system you operate out of in iac space? im in an alliance now ...i think we neut to you guys.

Nice. It seems like everyone is resetting everyone these days. Makes for more Pew pew which is never a bad thing.

IAC is primarily based out of the Catch Region, but since the BoS acquision/transfer has also picked up some space in Querious.

Being Neutral isn't good--we shoot neutrals. :)

And now the War is over.
We have had some great battles for 4 days and I think a lot of IRON were really getting excited about the weekend when the big fights were going to happen.

Oh Well, I guess it's back to Querious to Finish off Bob.

actually i heard iron shot at roadkills carriers when they were blue to iron. so thats the reason settings were reset. also i heard the leviathon popped its own support fleet but since i wasnt there i dont know the true story.

Do your skills still train when your account isn't active?

If your account goes inactive (subscription runs out) your current skill will continue training until it finishes. At that point, no more skills will train.

Scenario:
Subscription runs out April 8th.
Training UberSkill Level V. Finish date: May 1st.

Skill will continue training until May 1st. No more skills will train after that.

I've been playing for about a week and i'm thoroughly hooked. The learning curve is very steep, but the game is a blast once you start getting into it and figuring it out. Theres so much to it!

Yeah ok cool, thats the way it used to work back when I was playing. I sold my account a long time ago, and just started the free trial again, so was going to set a level 5 skill, and come back to something fun when the trial runs out.

COAD is a bad place to read stuff!

We had a lot of fun fighting back against AAA today. They couldn't hold off 300+ people. :D
Unfortunately when we had over 400 people in local, the lag was pretty bad. Surprisingly, when it was around 300 and we were camping a gate, there was none at all...unlike the last fleet battle of this size that I was in. This is why I like EVE better than any other MMO out there...nothing can match the scale and complexity of the PVP action that EVE offers.

Since large fleet battles are always interesting, here's another:
