Fry's retail Core 2 Q6600 $189.99 in store

Just checked the Houston store ad, it seems Houston is included in this deal also. Please save me one folks. :D

Christ almighty, I just bought this thing at MicroCenter in Houston for 199 and thought I was robbing them.

This applies to DFW Metroplex as well. I just saw the ad this morning.

Anyone confirm these are G0? I mean, after all this time, they'd just about have to be. But confirmation would be nice.

Look at the white information tag on the side of the box, the one with the bar codes on it. If it says SLACR then it's a G0

Most of these will be behind the fenced area (I assume most Fry's are like mine). If you're kind and considerate, you can ASK them to look for a SLACR for you. If you're a bit of an ass then they probably won't look and quite possibly hand you a B3.

Most of the time (assuming you're nice and all), they will look to ensure that they hand you specifically what you are looking for. You will NOT be allowed to go back there and look for yourself.

Too bad the VID isn't printed on the box, then you could ask them to hand you a G0 with the lowest VID value :)

I wish we had a Frys or a Microcenter up here in cornfield country. I would love on of these procs but I really don't want to spend more than $200

Saw the ad for the San Diego Frys this morning. I can confirm the SD store near Qualcomm Stadium has the SLACR G0 stepping as I asked the checkout person specifically to check for it and I have 2 in hand.

I just picked up an e8400 retail yesterday with a ECS MB for 219 yesterday. Probably going to return it as I didn't even open the boxes last night and then saw the new ad this morning.

I currently have a G0 oc'd to 3.2. Any know of any oc'd e8400 to oc'd Q6600 benchies?

I was just about to head to Fry's in San Diego to see what all the fuss was about. Do they have the Q6600 for $189 and does it include a mobo?

I got a G0 from Fry's 4 months ago. The older stepping was nowhere to be found even back then. :p

Price doesn't include any mobo. Just the retail box Q6600

just saw a 45nm x3320 for $227/$237! wow... now i'm almost regretting buying this guy, but that's a difference of about $47... oh wells! L748B341 SLACR any good for oc'n?

Confirmed this at the Phoenix Fry's. Damn, I might just have to go back and pick one up.

bwahaha! got into windows at 3.6ghz... oc'd /w easy tune to 3.8 then 3.9 it froze. tryin to get 3.4ghz stable at the moment...

they're all SLACRs afaik

oh yeah, you all can thank me for Fry's having this deal ;)

looks like this chip is pretty good... doing 2.7ghz right now with ram at 1200mhz at 1.2vcore

I just got one from the Fry's in Wilsonville, OR for $189 and its a slacr. They are marked at $259, but are $189 in the system.

The Fry's in Webster, TX also has them. And I can confirm the one I picked up is a G0. ;)
