I've got my drivers updated to the latest, but I still keep having the same problems I've been having for a while now.

a) At random, while playing back audio from any source, the sound will stop and loop continuously at the point it stopped at. If it's a video, the video continues, no crashes of any programs etc. Foobar will function normally, and pressing pause / play fixes it. It happens infrequently so it's not huge problem, but it's annoying when I start a playlist and and lay down away from the pc with my headphones on and it does this.

b) Dolby Live is buggy as hell.
1. It essentially breaks audio creation mode. I'll go into entertainment and start using it to watch a movie and turn it on. Then if I turn it off and switch to ACM (or switch then turn it off) to listen to music, I can start playing something, but there is no sound. Nothing is muted volumes up etc, no sound. I've tried various outputs as well (asio, ks, ds)
2. DDL stops working at random times. I have to stop the video close the program, and uncheck and check the DDL box to get it working again.

Now what I'm kinda ticked off the most about is how there doesn't seem to be any form of official Auzentech discussion forums / support forums =( I guess I could try their support email, but I never have any luck with those kinds of support and it takes a while.

I've done driver sweeps and clean installs, and moved the card to a diff pci slot. I've also checked creative's forums but it seems like there is a better forum for discussing prelude problems because @ creative's, there is hardly any discussion of this card.

Anyone had such problems? Or anyone know of a dedicated forum for this card?

Vista 64bit ultimate
4GB ram
Q6600 OC'd (just realized maybe I should try upping the pci voltage or not OC at all to see if that helps)

I didnt have any of your problems. DD live doesnt stop for me. I have use DD live on. I think I read some people usually just disable DD live and reable it again when it happens to them. dont know any auzen forums off hand. And if you make the message ugent it should make them respond faster.

I haven't experienced the problem you described in A but...

1. It essentially breaks audio creation mode.

I've noticed it doesn't work with bit-perfect playback enabled (although why one would have this enabled with DDL on is beyond me). I suppose it should convert X sampling rate to 48kHz automatically, but it doesn't. I'm not sure if this is the issue you are seeing though.

2. DDL stops working at random times. I have to stop the video close the program, and uncheck and check the DDL box to get it working again.

This happens to me every once in awhile too. But it's fairly rare. I would definitely report the problem; they are pretty good at responding to emails.

a) and #2 were happening to me. I suspected they were linked because when the computer was idle, DDL would stop working - assuming it was in a "silent" loop. Disabling/Enabling DDL would return audio back to functional.

It took Auzentech 3 full working days to reply to my email about this. Their response was it will be fixed in the next driver version. I installed the newer driver version after their email (a month ago), and it seemed to fix the issue. I only ran DDL for another week before switching back to an analogue connection. DDL was dropping out 2-3 times a week before the update.

avsforum.com is a fairly good resource for fixes on Prelude issues

Thanks for the informative responses guys.

Shag: That's what I've noticed for the most part. It stops working when I have had a movie paused, or turned off completely. However, I do remember distinctly 1-2 times where it stopped during movie playback. As well, it was stopping over and over after brief pauses at one point.

I just did another fresh wipe / install. I've done a little testing of DDL and it seems to have improved. The audio looping problem occurred once already. But again it happens very infrequently, but its still a hassle.

Looks like I'll send them an email, as well as test some of my OC settings.

As far as my system being stable.... well my q6600 OC'd to 3.4ghz has been in this state for 5 months, used heavily. The only crashes I've had were simple game crashes where the game was at fault and I didn't freeze or need to reboot (HL2 engine crashes everytime I exit a game ;/ not a big deal tho). I can only remember 1 bluescreen that I have had in the last few months.

So that's gotta say something for stability, as well as the 2+ hr session of prime95 in 4 instances (small ffts I believe) being completely stable. That was back when I first setup this system tho.

@kaluminati

I have exact the same problem with my Auzen Prelude.

Vista32 / 4 GB

bye

i have reported that loop problem too Auzentech and acording too them they have never come across it lol and they turn around and say it is you joke company. there sounding more like creative everyday . the amount of ddl sound loop posts you find if you google it . is a joke i also sent a few forams for them too catch up on the bugs the drivers have

bump from the grave. Recently started having this problem while using itunes for pretty much the first time (for HD tv shows).

My audio cuts out randomly- then all at once it'll have 3-4 seconds of sound come out at once.

Set my OC back to default/ fail-safe and I still run into this problem
