So yea, I was watching a movie and the 1" bleeding a top was too annoying even if the movie was great lol...

I need a monitor around 250-300$ that I will buy @ bestbuy canada or futureshop

its for gaming so I also need 2-5Ms response time.

Should I stick with TNs ?

For that price you can only get a TN anyway. If you liked the 2253bw maybe you can exchange it for another one, but there is no guarantee that you'll get another with less bleeding. You have to keep in mind that it's almost impossible to get a non-bleeding 22' TN monitor.

I dont care about lil bleeding, but not like this ONE. even in lighter scene I can c it lol

I'm currently typing this on a 2253BW and have a lot less than a inch of backlight bleeding at the top. It's noticeable but tolerable at the same time. I'd say about a quarter of an inch of backlight bleeding.

Anyway, there's a new LG model that I'm going to be checking out and giving the low down on in comparison to the 2253BW and then picking which one is better and stick with it.

The LG model is L227WTG and you can purchase this one at bestbuy. It's on sale right now for 289.99. It has a glossy finish instead of a matte finish like the Samsung.

Here's the link to the thread where I'll be putting up my reviews of both. There's also a link to a decent review of the LG I mentioned above. Hope this helps you out some.

i'd try another one, i've had backlight bleed with that on my search for a monitor a year ago. i went through something like 4 or 5 22" panels before i settled on the 245BW (still TN, but i like the higher resolution and i find it excellent for backlight bleed)

so heres a tip for dealing with FS/BB here in canada - they give you 2 weeks to take something back for any old stupid reason. however, if you do an exchange they don't start that 2 weeks over again and that can be a problem when trying to find the right lcd if you're a bit picky. so when returning it you tell them you want a refund not an exchange and you're getting another. if they ask say you want the full 2 weeks to make sure you didn't get a dud.

it may take some time but i had 3 or 4 of the 226BW's back when they were still new and had all 3 panel types. there was a BIG difference between them for backlight bleeding and really it can be luck of the draw sometimes. just keep trying and if you remember to specify you want a return and not an exchange you have all the time you need to make your decision.

I usually have a rule:

If a monitor has issues twice, I return it and never consider it again. Who has time to keep rooting through new packages constantly looking for a monitor without dead pixels or backlight bleed? The problem with the 2253BW is that most are coming with the CMO panel which is not as nice as the Samsung panel.

For 22" TNs I would recommend the following:

1) LG W2252TQ
2) LG L227WT
3) BenQ X2200W (which should be available more widely soon)

If your budget allows, the BenQ G2400W is an excellent monitor. NCIX has them for cheap, and they are also available at Tiger Direct. I'm enjoying it these days as a great PC/PS3 gaming display. In some ways I much prefer it to my BenQ FP241VW.

I actually ordered the LG W2252TQ from Futureshop for pick up, but decided against going to get it due to my recent re-purchase of the BenQ. I saw it in the store. Nice display. Also, not too bright, and colors have some punch to them. I didn't get a chance to see BLB on it though.

Good luck with your search.
