Are Gaming Gloves Worth It?

More important are the shin guards, and facemask.

and the knee pads for all the _______ you are gonna get for wearing them :p

SteelSeries actually is a cool company and makes a lot of neat stuff, but this is just fing retarded.

friend won that exact same gaming glove from steel series in an online tournament. he tried it for shits and giggles and yes its a dumb as it looks. He said he couldn't even bend his wrist with the damn thing and made him play like crap lol.

Carpal tunnel is not the only injury you can get from gaming. To prevent other injuries keep all your hand and finger muscles warm (you can use the hot air that's blowing out from your computer) and use good posture. Even if a glove might prevent Carpal tunnel it will probably will not help with shoulder RSI and/or finger cramps. I think it is wise to buy ergonomic controls. Call me a dork if you must, but I've just invested in a gaming keypad because of finger strain and tingling fingers: a carpal tunnel symptom. I have been using a Saitek "Cyborg Command Unit" for a couple of weeks for hours a day and my symptoms have reduced, I no longer get the tingling sensation in my fingers, I think the wrist support is helping.

in the movie Stay Alive and boy am I glad I rented it for free .. one of the kids in the movie uses that glove.. cracked up when I saw it.. and I think xoxide sells them still ..

http://www.xoxide.com/steelglove.html

but sorry... out of stock.. you know how theyre such a HOT item...

/me falls off his chair laughin :D

what movie? tell me thats a 2hip shirt

Wizard. It's about a kid running away from truance officers and finishing Super Mario 3.

The only gloves i've actually seen are wrist supports and looks like the fighting glove Ryu wears.

There's nothing wrong with being a geek, but good God this is just too much. If I saw anyone actually wearing these I couldn't be their friend :p

If you are friendless go right ahead but if you intend of keeping your friends.....please god.... NOOOOOOO.

Wow this is quite possibly the most blatantly homosexual peice of hardware since Elton John's wang.

Don't forget "The Glove"...I am talking about the one and only one...

THE MJ GLOVE !!

although this one is a close 2nd LOL...

Yeah. It's for carpel tunnel prevention. Actually it's not such bad idea.

It didn't affect me when I was younger. Now that I'm getting older, too much mouse action after hours of playing TF2 will make my wrist start to sore. Also, doing a lot of copy-paste work in office apps is starting to become noticeable on my wrist. So far, I just make sure to break long enough to stretch my wrist, instead of just resting it on the mouse even when I'm not doing anything.

this is what you need for carpel tunnel

Seriously, my scores have doubled. I consitantly get 2-3 head shots at once. I get accused of cheating, and I tell them...The power is in the glove!

i think anyone that uses that kind of glove has been watching too much Naruto :p

gaming Steel headband is next  :p

i think the only benefit from the glove could possibly be that you dont get sweat all over your mouse.

I saw this thread and originally thought of The Wizard. Then before I opened the thread I already knew someone would beat me to the post :(

Does this glove work for excessive masturbation!?

Our age is showing.

I dont know why people are making so much fun of this?

All it is a wrist brace, branded with marketing for games all over it...so what??

I work on the computer all day(IT admin)....Im 20, and after all day using the mouse, my right pinky starts to tingle and go numb sometimes, and fingers start to lock up a little

happens after an hour of any first person shooter game i play too

Maybe the brace would help, for everyday work or even gaming....i Mean i dont need to pay extra for the 1337 gamming one..but still...its just marketing a wrist brace...

Maybe because it's just mis-marketed. It's a GAMING tool (woo!). But really it's just a hand brace.

I find that a gel wristpad for the base of the palm is 100x more effective than braces. But I wouldn't make one and call it a "GAMING PAD DELUXE PRO 3000", like it's going to give me eleventy million more headshot kills because my wrist is comfortable.

i use gaming socks instead.. they increase my k/d ratio by 20%

That gaming glove is meant for fast-paced FPS games. It basically reduces friction with the mouse pad which can help you aim better. I don't think you need this for the latest games though, they tend not to be fast-paced anymore and focus more on other things than pure aim and fast reactions.

Just buy these http://www.harbingerfitness.com/cgi-bin/6fyd-xxe5x.cgi?133&&sku and use them to game.

At least this way you might get some benefit since by wearing those you're gonna affect your flexibility with them on. By the time you stop using them for a while, you'll have faster reflexes.

/sarcasm

On realistic note, I used to practice typing wearing weight lifting gloves. I increased my WPM by about 20%. Of course, I did a lot of data entry back in the day and a lot of typing.

You have some weak wrist flexors...go strengthen those forearms. Seriously.

Advice from a kinesiology major.

That's pretty hilarious too.

FlexFit (tm)
Wash&Dry (tm)
TechGel (tm)

LOL.

When is someone going to trademark "LifeAir(tm)": Our proprietary blend of oxygen, carbon dioxide, and nitrogen molecules allows for maximum dispersion into your blood stream, allowing your heart and muscles to operate at peak efficiency!

Hey, you're breathing my LifeAir(tm)! I'm gonna sue!

The patients are indeed running the asylum.

Wow, just wow. I actually have a friend with really bad carpal tunnel that wears some kind of wrist strap when he types, but for gaming?

I have a pair and they make me feel quite naughty, I sometimes like to touch myself wearing them...

Jeebus christ people, what is this world coming to????

It will soon be populated entirely by homosexuals.

Kind-of like the glove.
