The problem I ran in to is with my D-tek fuzion and 1/2" ID tygon. There is no room between the tube/fittings for clamps. I did manage to wrap a 4" black zip tie around each fitting and pull tight as I could.

Is this really acceptable for internal pc use? The tygon is so soft I can actuall pull it straight off the barbs without clamping it.

Thoughts/Suggestions?

If its that loose I wouldnt trust zip ties... using 1/2" barbs ya should have gotten 7/16" x 5/8" Tygon and boil the ends for about 30 seconds and slip it right on the barbs and its like never coming off. You could try worm drive clamps... Ive read that it is possible to fit on the fuzion but put one on and tighten it down and then put the other one on and wiggle it back and forth and should be able to get it all the way down and tighten that one up.

I could fit worm drive clamps on my Fuzion using 7/16" tubing. Using zip ties should work just fine. Make sure you put the zip tie in the right spot though. You need to get it behind the flared out portion of the barb, where it goes back to being straight.

With R-3603, you need some sort of clamp for sure. On the D-Tek Fuzion, you can fit wormdrives if you install one tubing, tighten it first then install the other. With R-3400, it's much stiffer so you can probably get away without any clamp.

Are regular gear drives alright with tygon or do I need the non-extruding (No slots for the hose to squeeze thru) kind?

i use the regular automobile hose clamps and have for years. I feel it is the security i need to be able to watercool. rememeber do not tighten them too much initially and you have to cut the end off and use a fresh end everytime you take them off. I cut my hoses about an inch or 2 long so I can take off that 1/2" a couple of time before I have to use new tubing. I don't trust anything but hose clamps, period. say what you will but if that hose pops off or leaks your screwed. plastic tie wraps degrade over time and get brittle and break. do what you want but i think it is foolish not to use the real deal. what? it don't look all slick? only reason i can see not to, and that is lame. function over form any day.

RayDaddy, are you just cutting because the clamp is too long or some other reason?

I am using clamps on the rest of the fittings, but the plastic type. I figure as often as I change my hardware, any plastic bits won't have a chance to become brittle before I trash em..

Your right though, I'm not wild about trusting zip-ties. That's just not what they were made for..

I dug thru my toolbox and have two new gator clamps that I bought for my silicone hoses, they should be about the perfect size.. Now getting a screwdriver/socket on them with the block mounted is another story. :)

I cut the end off each time to give my clamp a fresh bite and to not rip the hose probably don't have to but I like it

I found some nifty hose clamps at walmart with a thumbscrew. Couldn't be easier.

Wow, getting the second clamp in there was a tight fit!

Here goes. BTW, this loop look okay? The lower fitting is the in, and the top the out.

Use one of these for much better ziptie clamping...
