cant get ID3 tag info from a CD

went to a good party on Saturday night that had this kick ass CD going, so I asked if I can keep the disc at the end of the night. turns out it was a burned disc and the host didnt care. so I wanted to rip it and the songs to my collection..... except I cant read the ID3 tags off the disc. Winamp wont pick it up, Windows Media cant, CD-DA extractor cant. but my cars CD player can see the track names.... wtf?

you have to manually enter the info yourself. The filenames of the tracks (probably what your cars cd player is picking up) have absolutely no relation to the info in the ID3 tags. You can do this automatically in foobar however. It will allow you to auto tag the filenames as the track titles.

i would enter it manually if I knew what the song titles were, lol. I am not that hell bent yet to go to my car and sit there and write down the song titles... lol... YET

CD-TEXT is what is on a redbook audio CD.

nero 8 can read CD text too... i totally forgot that nero can rip CDs... lol
