Ok I have this iso file that is for my computer mobo. So what is it, and how do I use it. This is not anything I am used to so HeLp if you can.

This thing is the size of my cd that I burned so now it is on a cd so now what do I do with it. I assume it has all the drivers on it for my mobo and some programs for the mobo but how do I get to them in this iso thing?

But it says it is a xxx.image file so is that an iso? and how do I get things out of an image file? Im real dumb here so help is needed please.

Go here and download this. http://www.imgburn.com/ It is free. You will need this to burn to a disk. Or if you have WinRar you can extract it. It is a disk image. It is not usable in .iso format. Nero would also burn it to a disk. You would have to use the "burn image" feature, just putting it on a disk does not work.

I have nero so I can burn this image to a cd and then what do I do with it.?

OK nero can do. I see now how this works

Thanks

On Nero (Burning ROM, not express), Cancel the New Compilation dialog that comes up. Go to the "Recorder" menu. Choose "Burn Image...". Then point it to you .iso file and burn that to a disk. At that point you will have a CD (or DVD, depending on size) with the files that were contained in the .iso. You could probably use the Nero express, but I usually don't, just wanted to get you quick directions.

to explain what that file it. it is a "image" of a cd. its basically a file that is a snap shot of the disk. so you can load one of these files into a virtual cd drive. so you may want to make like a backup a cd by ripping it to your pc and virtually loading it to protect the physical disk from scratches. or a way to download it from the internet and it can burn to a disk and look exactly like a normal cd you would purchase
