Newegg.com Video Card Blow Out Sale!

As far as which card, I would choose by what the resolution of the display I plan to use it on. A lot of people have indicated that the GTX really shines if you run it on a 24" 1920 x 1200 display. If you're running anything smaller then the go with the GTS. But keep in mind the GTS listed in this sale is not the G92 version.

Despite my earlier post indicating it's wise to wait, I couldn't resist and just clicked "Submit Order" on a GTX. Damn it!

coool, i got a 61" samsung i plan to hook it up to now and then and one of these days a 42" as well. The GTX might just have to be picked up

Pull the trigger on the GTX.
Most ive spent on a Vid card lol, but wont have to upgrade for a whiel....i hope

GTX is the way to go for the price. Discount code still just worked for me too.

Wish I had the cash for that GTX right now.

THAT is exactly what I'm thinking.... I'm sitting here w/ my 7800GT that JUST burnt out TONIGHT. /cry

Now I have a good reason to buy one, but money's bottlenecking lol.

Still no point in switching, as 8600 has shader performance, while 7600 has more "raw" performance, woudldnt trader eaither one for a 6800GT though, if its not 256bit mem bus,its a pos in by book.
But lets not get too offtopic, the is Newegg's thread after all

My opinion: switch no recommended, get 8800GS or 9600GT instead

The 7600GT and 8600GT are so so close in performance. Overall framerates considering the average of all tested games are slightly higher on the 8600, and most are HDCP and support DX10 (but not with enough power to enable it). The 8600 is a good card, just not substantially faster than the 7600. But for $65 it's a good buy. The 9600GT is over $160 and the 8800GS well over $100, so I would expect them to be a lot faster than a 7600 or 8600GT. Just depends on what you want to do. If you're going to watch blu ray or HD content, the 7600GT doesn't support HDCP, so you might have an issue there. Up to you.

I've always gotten every rebate from EVGA, takes about a month for me.

You'll get $299.

I really hope I get my rebate from EVGA on THIS card. They are 0 for 2 with me. They received everything and confirmed it all on their website. Never got the first set of checks even though they claimed to have mailed them. I called them, emailed them, double, triple, and quadruple checked my address with them. They sent new checks over a month ago now. Still haven't received anything. I'm not impressed at all. I've gotten every Corsair, Verizon, Sony, Samsung, Antec, and BFG rebate I've ever ever sent in. They are all 100% for me, but EVGA is ZERO percent right now. We'll see if I get my $30 on my 8800GTS 512MB... If I don't then I expect full retail credit when I do stepup.

Why all the hype over a GTX at $299 when they have 8800GTS (G92) 512mb's going for more than $50 less than that?

From what I've read, the 8800GTS 512mb performs similarly to the 880GTX until you REALLY start cranking the resolution.

Some people do own 24"-30" monitors :)

I agree if you don't have a 24"+ monitor, go with the 512 GTS...

Does anyone have a link to the 8800GTX rebate? I went on the site today and they do not have a link provided anymore. Thanks.

hm, well yeah at stock the 8600gt is pretty much barely ahead of the 7600gt. But you forgot to take into account 8600gt's overclock like CRAZY. My 8600gt did over 730MHz core (stock is what, 560?)

Anyways, I agree 8800gs or 9600gt fo' sho.

Wish there was an AGP card in that offer...Just to upgrade the old POS I got.

Thank you to New Egg even thought I missed out on the incredible GTX deal.

I will have to be quicker next time. This type of encompassing involvement is one of the reasons this site ( [H] ) continues to thrive in the accelerated rate of change the Internet fosters.

At the cost of half your salary?
Even though we're getting off topic (awesome deals, by the way), I can't help but to rebut this comment.

The average married 2-child family pays 21.5% income taxes in Canada, 11.9% in the US (among the lowest in the world). Singles pay 31.6% and 29.1% in Canada and the US, respectively (per OECD). So, I don't understand how you conclude that health care costs half of the average Canadian's income. What's amazing is that the US puts more % of its GDP towards health care than Canada (TWICE as much per capita), and somehow we ended up with a better system.

Will you guys match the BFG 8800 GTS 512 price of $252 (all instant rebates) from Best Buy???

The list on their site is $279, but if you buy two, the price is only $503.98 in your cart. Now thats a deal! (The GTX for $299 isnt bad either)

BFGR88512GTSE x2 ; $503.98!!!
