EVGA 8800GTX 339.99 (MIR)

Damn!!! That's the same price I paid for my G92 8800GTS 512MB last month. Too bad my 30 day return period expired. :(

excellent find ~ I wonder if these deals are the way of the future to offload the current 8800 series before the 98xx drops.

I'm happier w/ my GTS than I was w/ the GTX. It's much cooler running, doesn't throw extra heat around in my case, easy on the psu, accelerates BD/HDwhatever that other format was, and once overclocked, runs a bit quicker on some games provided 8xQ TSAA's not enabled. :D

Well, that makes me feel better. I might "step up" to the 9800 series depending on how they perform.

Nice deal! I paid $500 a piece several months ago for two of the three BFG 8800 GTXs I have now. Bought the third one from a friend for $300. :D

With those rebates coming out, you know that comething new is coming out soon :). I'm holding off til the end of next summer for my next upgrade.

Out of curiosity, how much do you have to overclock it to get around GTX speeds?

I find it hard to understand how a weaker card can perform better....

but then again... "Microsoft Works" !!!11!

Even at $340, it's not far from twice as expensive as an 8800GT with a good MIR. I fail to see how it has enough of a performance advantage to be worth it.

Wow, that's really tempting...although what's around the corner might be really good instead of this. Hmmm, to move from GTS to GTX, I cant decide, lol.

Its all about the resolution man. Let me tell you, at 1920x1080p the GT just cant cut it. The GTX is necessary!

I have the 8800 GTS SSC 640 that I bought int early Feb- gonna hold onto my step up for a little longer... :D

Step-up only works from Evga.com's price (MSRP usually), not the best price you can find online.

I got the same damn deal.... Can't believe we paid $180 for 2 gigs of DDR2-800 ram *sigh*, oh well. I was able to sell them for $110 a couple months ago. Yay Mexico! :D

i'm sure these deals are...

The funny thing is that the GTX will handle any game.... so if you already have one, and want to wait until xmas time... holy SLI batman for around 200 bucks. (hopefully)

20% on core, 25% on the shaders compared to the OC GTX.

Oh Nvidia...why? I got the same performance for 1/2 the cost when I really wanted 2x the performance for the same price. :(

The drivers on the GTX are quite old and I'm sure the 4GB doesn't hurt. I would say the performance is quicker in games up to a point. Flip on the 8x MSAA and kick up the res past 1680x1050 and they trade spots in some games. Overall I'm quite happy w/ the overclock on the GTS 512. Actually, H explains the reward. That's handy to explain why we OC, right?

Heheh ya, and I remember buying my Buffalo 2gb of 800 ram at $200 was a steal

$270 G.Skill HZ!! I'd REALLY like a quicker card, but just don't want any of that hot 'n' heavy 98GXwhatever :( That's why I ditched the GTX!!

Thats actually less than i paid for my GTS512's back in december :( Guess thats what i get for jumping on them right when they launched.
