Hi,

I found a manual for installing a Koolance module on what looks to be a similar EVGA card that shows how to remove the stock cooler. Anyone have a link for a step-by-step for properly removing the stock cooler for this specific card? I'm installing a ThermalRight HR-03 Plus on it. TIA...

Use the card for about 20 minutes to get the thermal paste heated up.

Shut the system down, take the card and remove the screws.

And boom the stock hsf is off.

I've never heard it done that way, will have to remember when my time comes.

A very slight side to side twist while pulling on the heatsink will make the removal less scary.
I used a HR-03 Plus prior to going SLI.

Yeah I'll be using it with the stock cooler at first anyway to get some heat measurements I can compare to once I put the HR-03 on. Thanks for the tip.

Also if running it 20 minutes does not help it come off, don't be scared to give it some pressure.

Its not like we are taking the IHS off of a cpu, and if done wrong the cpu is now a paper weight.

Make sure you keep all the screws and the original heatsink so that you can RMA it. because in order to RMA you will need to re attach the original HSF.
