Jab-tech has three different models to choose from: D12SH, D12SL, D12SM. Xoxide has only the D12SM and two LED models. Jab-tech is rumored to sell fake Yate Loons. Which model is the best though?

I was eying some Noctua fans, but they're too expensive. I'll be getting three fans, two for my A05B and one to replace the Tuniq Tower's stock fan. Even if the Noctua fans are quieter, I'm willing to sacrifice a little quietness to save some cash.

I can't hear my D12SM in the Tuniq Tower 120, but I have a couple of D12SM as case fans and they make some noticable noise but nothing to loud. I run them all at 100% 24/7. But I might get a fan controller to get them a little bit quieter.

Have you considered the Scythe Slipstream fans? They come in 500, 800, 1200, 1600, and 1900 rpm's to choose from. They're supposed to have higher airflow vs other fans in the same rpm ranges because they have more fins and smaller center motor hub design.

I hadn't heard of that Scythe model, but they're about twice as much as a Yate Loon, but still much cheaper than a Noctua.

Got the ball bearing ones myself, D12BL-12 and well worth extra $$. Just as quiet as low speed sleeve bearing ones. Just something to consider....

I've read that the bearing ones can have bearing noise, but it might've been from the 'fake' ones.

If you're going to get Yates, go with Petrastechshop.com. I doubted the claims of fake yates until I ordered from petras, it really is a big difference.

I plan to. I think I read that SVC orders direct as well, but I guess I'll stick with Petra's.

Are the all-orange fans the same as the black/orange ones? Maybe a newer revision? I've read about the all-orange ones being a bit better, but I can't find them for sale anywhere. A few places have the black case/orange fan ones though.

Can't say I want orange fans, but if they're better, I'd get them.

Too bad no one in the US seems to sell Noiseblocker fans. Their blue fans are awesome.

Petra's has the 'curved' blade YL's (like the Nexus fans), Everyone else has the 'straight' blade variety YL's. The curved test better, so it's a no-brainer...Petra's. Cant beat the service from there either!

i just read up on petra's vs other providers, namely jab-tec. Petra gets the YateLoon fans directly from YateLoon so they are the real deal and perform better than other sources. the curved and rounded blades are the best. the D12SH-12 is the most powerful, but is slightly louder as well. i have the SM and SL and found that the SM is better for me. its not audible through the case and provides better airflow than the SL. no experience with the SL, but it cant be bad.
