Gotta love the rock band pedal!

Thats why you need a REAL drum set:p

...Nah but that sucks. From what I hear the drum sets are breaking like crazy

Actually.. I play in my socks most of the time. When it broke, I was barefoot. :(

Cut your beastly toe nails. Man... that sucks.. so you have to buy a replacement, or is it under warranty?

The warranty's basically a no-questions-asked free replacement of anything that the game comes with, has been that way since day 1. They'll cross-ship if you let them put a hold on a credit card.

ahhh!!!...flashbacks

that looks exactly like mine did two weeks ago. Luckily EA replaced it pretty quickly.

The problem for me, since I'm completely hopeless at anything requiring two limbs to act independently, is that when you try to do the harder difficulties, you instinctively go harder/faster to hit it at the correct time.

But hey, I'm through about 25 songs on Hard w/ the drums now, so I'm hoping this new pedal will last me through the end of this difficulty.

It happened to ours withinn a week, with the guitar blowing on the second song we played. Did they just forget to beta test this equipment before they sent it out?

I wonder if these guys are making enough money with Rock Band to continuously replace the drums of the more active players without losing money. You would think that they would upgrade their pedals to a reinforced version at some point so that they don't keep losing money on this. Or maybe the money they put into each pedal is so ridicuously low that it's more convenient for them to keep sending out these parts. Some people on the rockband.scorehero.com forums are already on their third replacement of drum pedals!

My wife's become quite the wizard on drums (she can play pretty much anything on hard) and ours has held up nicely.
I recall something about later shipments being "fixed" so maybe ours isn't as fragile. It certainly feels built to last.

Ouch. only 30 hours? my friends lasted about a month before a very fatal snap right where yours is :p it wasnt the first snap though...

Well, I've had it since release date in November, but didn't start playing the solo drum campaign until 2 weekends ago. I'd say about 15 hours on solo campaign so far and the other 15 from friends being over. There could have been other snaps, but I didn't hear or feel any. I play best with the music turned on loud.

Ahhhh. Well most of our play was quickplay and Band tour :p

Ours snapped RIGHT at the hinge so we taped it together there :p It worked just as good as before but it had THREE other hairline cracks developing along the outside frame 0_0 Then the one right where yours is went all the way across :( It's nearly impossible to drum now... its taped VERY majorly lmfao

Pics? ;)

If I had them, they would make you cry :p The thing is more tape than plastic at this point  I ended up using a guitar string to make the new pivot point after the old pivot broke, before the thing snapped further up  It was a work of art. lmfao

Here's a pic of a fix I ran across on the rockband/scorehero forums

I'm not handy enough to make something like this.

Yep, thats what most people do. some sort of Thicker-than-the-shitty-stock-plastic plate fused to the old stuff heheh

Its quite easy to completely REPLACE the pedal actually. the only sensor in the moving bit is the magnet. its easily removeable too (moved the whole thing to an ACTUAL drum pedal, but it was too bouncy and triple kicked on single notes... )

I'm about to be on my 4th pedal. First one snapped right at the hinge. 2nd one snapped in the middle. Third one, I taped a couple pairs of chopsticks down the middle for strength and it held up nicely, but doesn't register beats anymore for some reason. I got the game mid Dec too. The pedals are just poorly designed, when they actually enforce the warranty a lot of people will be pissed off.

How long did it take for EA to ship you your pedals?

Update on my story: After the quick replacement entry into EA's website, which was super user-friendly, I received an RMA # as well as a UPS tracking code. I thought for sure that the "2 day express shipping" meant I was going to get it within the week. It's now been about 7 days, and the status on the UPS website is still "Billing Information Received."

Does anyone else have this issue with replacement parts? It's absolutely ridiculous. I searched through EA's website and could not find a contact number. Finally, through a google search, I found:

866-543-5435

After reading off "Warranty" for my first option. The computerized voice asked me "Is this about Rock Band?" I said yes before she even finished Band. Then I was told that I would have to call back between 8am-5pm PST.

When I had to get a replacement guitar, i went through the web site same as you, and then waited two weeks to receive my replacement. I finally got tired of waiting and found that number and called them. Apparently my RMA got lost in the system somewhere. BUT, when I had them on the phone, they were very friendly and apologetic, and they straightened everything out. I had my replacement two days later. So definitely follow up with them about it.

I've just started an RMA on my drum pads, since the yellow pad seems to be on the fritz. Hopefully everything goes smoothly this time.

Thank you! Just what I needed. Calling now.

Mine just cracked by the orange tab. It's about to break off completely.

RMA time.

I'm hoping my replacement will be reinforced from the standard version. I talked to EA customer support at 650- 628-1001 (the other number I provided earlier apparently is only for software) and talked to a friendly guy from New England. He told me that they give it 10 business days before sending out a second order. So much for two day express service.
