We are getting in a couple of HP NC364T PCI-E 4 port gigabit nic cards for testing. I was wondering if anyone had any recommendations for testing bandwidth usage on these. We were planning on getting one our labs and running iperf against each of the ports simultaneously to test speed / bandwidth. Does anyone else have any other recommendations? We will be pairing these guys up in hopes of consolidating our firewalls. So any help would be greatly appreciated.

You could try ghosting on the network. That should be a good few gigabytes.

We use Netpersec to test our connections. Find a large single file, copy it to a computer once to get it cached on the server then open up Netpersec and copy the file again. It should give you a fairly accurate reading.

Isn't netpersec a lot like iperf?
Yea it is very similar. I just go with what I know. 6 of one and half a dozen of the other basically.
