Want to play some Old Emulators on my Laptop,

Mainly NES, SNES, Sega, PS, and MAYBE N64 and PS2. Anyone make a nice Bluetooth Gamepad? or at least a nice small gamepad I can throw in the case of my 12" Thinkpad x61s?

A quick look at Newegg and Google only brought up this:

There may be a way to use either a PS3 or Xbox 360 controller. I think one or the other (maybe both, if i remember right) use bluetooth to connect.

The only one I know for sure that will work via Bluetooth is a Wii remote...but im not sure how much functionality it will give you for systems that use more buttons than the NES or Genesis.

There are a lot of regular wireless gamepads.....or are you just looking for something that will natively connect with your laptop's built in bluetooth?

Bluetooth would be easiest since its built into the laptop and would be one less thing to carry around with this compact laptop (thats the idea of a 12" after all). For nintendo I can just use the keyboard but when you need 6 axis the keyboard starts to suck a bit. This laptop is a blast playing some classics on, but bluetooth controller would be just amazing.

I was hoping for something with at least a 6 axis, but it would be even better if I could find something with the joysticks/PSP type yoke on it.

There are programs written for Symbian phones that allow you to use them as a gamepad with a bluetooth capable PC. There's a video demonstrating how the accelerometer built into the Nokia N95 can be used as a steering wheel.

My Thinkpad has a trackpoint could I use that somehow?

I don't have a fancy phone just a VX8700 hacked to provide free EVDO internet (for emergencies heh)

The PS3 controller is certainly Bluetooth. The 360 controller doesn't use Bluetooth though, it uses a proprietary 2.4GHz connection, which means you need to use a wireless dongle with it.

I'm not sure if there are available drivers to use the PS3 controller with Bluetooth though...you'll have to look around. I know it works fine through USB.

Thanks good search indicated it can be used on PC, not sure about through bluetooth (Alot of people want it to but so far only through USB) I also read no 6-axis support and absolutly NO vista 64 support. :( I have vista 64 installed so I can utilize all my memory.

Why don't you just get a wired USB gamepad? You lose the wireless, but you only have one thing to carry.

Might have to but the idea would be that I can hook this laptop up to a larger TV like a 37 or 42" in the trailer at the desert, then sit back from across the room and enjoy the classics should a sand storm come. it woudl also be nice if I could hookup multiple BT controllers and play from a distance.

In that case, wireless Xbox 360 controllers and the USB receiver are the best I can think of. I think the receiver can accept either 4 or 8 controllers. Also, you could recharge them over USB if need be.

Wouldn't he have the same chance of losing the wired controller when it wasn't plugged in?

Regarding the Wii controller -- maybe the classic controller could be used through it? I don't know, as I haven't looked into it. The wiimote with a nunchuck would make a decent gaming device if you just needed one analog stick.

I thnk he ment that it would get the job done, but I lose wireless capabilities.

I'd want to be able to plug in a couple controllers though so then I might need a hub, the X-box idea isn't so bad I suppose. I'm considering just getting the N64 adaptes for my N64 controllers to give it that authentic touch. But they are kinda big. The Wii Controller would probably work for NES and SNES though (I kinda like the R and L buttons on the SNES controllers though for starfox and racing games)? Trying to dig up info to see if It can be used on vista64.
