I rented cod 4 to see if I wanted to buy it. Is there no way to play with another person on the same xbox over xbox live? I can't figure out how to get a second person on the same xbox on xbox live. If you can't thats a deal breaker for me, playing with someone else next to you is the best part about console games.

Unfortunately, there is no way to play online in split-screen. I tried to do the same thing with a few friends when I first bought the game. We ended up having to play off-line.

Wow, thats disappointing, my favorite part about consoles is being able to play with someone else.

I feel you.

Thinking back to Perfect Dark 64 days- BOTS!!! We need them in offline games.
The thing dislike about two players is you can't play a bunch of people at once- you are limited to each other.

Yeah, I was disappointed with COD as well for that reason.

I really hope developers don't miss the point of online gaming--to play with others--and the one thing consoles offer over PCs in that area: to play with your friends on one screen against other people.

I just thought it'd be a built-in feature for all FPS with Halo paving the way using guest accounts. But then GoW and CoD4 go backwards and don't allow it, what nonsense.

The day multiplayer games on the console end up like PCs (alone, playing with/against all no-faces) is the day I don't want a console anymore.

Halo3 does too.. I see no reason you shouldn't be able to play spilt screen online..

Just have them hit A to join, then sign in as a guest..

Only problem I see is you both needing screen names in the game (which means you both need Live IDs).

However I think Microsoft could work around this as long as ONE of you had a Live ID, it could use yourid-GUEST or something for the other person...

Thats how it works on halo3 guests show up under your name with a (1) by there name, only thing is guests can't join ranked matches so you have to play the no ranked matches. This wouldn't be that hard to add in cod 4.

Not really, Private Party already exists...
