This is truly a great deal and the lowest price around for the 8800GT and a good deal for those who missed the MSI 8800GT. :)

Go get'em while you can.

PNY 8800GT

Your title says $4231.98 shipped haha. I thought this was a joke.

But $231.98 shipped is a pretty nice price.

I also thought it was a lame attempt at humor, but $231 is a decent price for that card. Too bad it's from a store I've never heard of and that has no reseller ratings for it that I could find.

yes it is a new store and I just placed an order.

I have no doubt whatsoever that I will be receiving it.

not trying to be an ass, but i mean people can lie lol. i too have dealt with these kinds of companies, but more than half the time its been a flop. hopefully theyre legit

Funny, those two google ratings sound like the same person.

No good contact info. on the site and not a lot of info. provided here. Personally I'm staying away.

I could be wrong, but I've always heard PNY was the bottom end of the NVidia dispensers. So we're talking the bottom end 8800gt 512 from the bottom end manufacturer at $231.98 shipped from an not very well known retailer... Hmm. Pass? :D

Never had a problem with the 2 PNY 8800GTS cards I ordered for a friend.

Hi,

Not to steal your thunder but I this would be a pass only because PNY is advertising it as a "performance card" when in fact it is running stock clocks/performance settings. I wished BB and BFG will do another $230 priced 8800GT in the near future. The 15% off from the list is pretty good for Best Buy standards. In stock at the store is another thing. Funny thing is I wound up delivering to a district manager over the holiday several times. The UPS driver I worked with over the holiday season said if I needed any from Best Buy and for a really low price he was the guy to see. If I had known that and the 8800GTs were that hot, it would have been, "Can you get me a few of these please?"

later,
shaggy

PNY used to be a lot worse, IMO. They had a questionable "lifetime" warranty on the Verto line that really only lasted one or two years. All of their new XLR8-series video cards carry three years, with an additional two for registering your product with them. IMO, 3 years is decent, and 5 years is quite alright. Lifetime would be better, but do you really keep your cards for 5 years? And if you do, do you really care about the warranty on it at the end of that time?

A card doesn't have to have overclocked settings to be advertised as "performance."

Performance is a class of cards, just like "value," "mainstream," and "enthusiast." Seems like a good deal to me. My wife has a pny 8800 gts and she's pretty happy with it.

I had a pny5200 back in the day. The sucker lasted forever. In fact it is sill chugging along after a decent overclock.
